The wedding

The preparation that the palace had for them throw Taehyung off guard.

The palace itself was bigger than Daegu and it was full of guards and people standing on both sides of the road welcoming them as they made way. Taehyung could tell that the whole place was in a festive mode for their arrival. He could not believe that they were being welcomed in such a grand manner.

But he was nervous. He had never met the king officially and this would be the first time the queen will see him. What if they don't like him?

When they stopped in front of the welcome party, Taehyung was extremely tense. Hoseok had made sure that Tae was in proper royal attire, which means his face was hidden behind a veil that was attached to his hat. He got out of the carriage, this time it was Hoseok who helped him.

He looked forward and saw SeokJin bowing and then standing beside his parents. He also saw Jimin standing beside the queen and jumping up and down. Judging by the way the queen was holding his hand, Tae could tell that he was being physically barred from jumping onto Taehyung's arms. Taehyung's heart filled with joy to see his friend, he wanted to jump into the boy's embrace too.

Hoseok introduced himself and then Taehyung and he bowed to the king and queen.

"Welcome to our kingdom prince Taehyung. We are incredibly honoured that your mother, the queen, has accepted our proposal. Our two kingdoms will bond more with this marriage. And I hope you will find a fitting mate in our SeokJin."

Taehyung bowed again. "Thank you for your kind welcome your majesty. It's an honour to be here for me as well. My mother, the queen of Daegu, send her regards, she too is overjoyed in this union of our kingdoms."

"We have prepared for the wedding to be placed as soon as possible." It was the queen who spoke this time. "Your wedding will take place tomorrow. As the soon to be mate of the crown prince, you should know that the duty of reigning our kingdom will fall over to you as well. You will be his partner and counsel, you will have to be his light in the darkness. From what I have heard, I am sure you will be a fitting companion to my SeokJin. I hope our kingdom will benefit greatly from your wisdom"

Taehyung felt overwhelmed by the queen's kind words. He didn't know they held such a high opinion of him. He promised himself that he would work hard not to disappoint them.

"I will try the hardest," he said.

The queen smiled. "Now that the introductions are done, may you please reveal your face to us"

Taehyung bowed again and Hoseok lifted his veil.

The king and queen smiled when they looked at Tae.

"See I told you he and Hyung will look great together," Jimin said, unable to hold still any longer. The queen nodded fondly, " yes, Jimmie! you were very right, they make the perfect pair. People will travel to see his beauty once they learn we have found such a handsome groom for our Jin" she smiled.

Growing up, Taehyung has always thought he was confident and defiant. But ever since he had met SeokJin, he found himself blushing more than he had ever done in entire his life. And now, listening to his future in-law praise his beauty so highly, Tae felt he would die out of shyness.

But then, a pair of small hands engulfed him. Jimin had finally jumped on him.

"TaeTae!! I missed you so much!! I made a flower crown for you and I am so happy that you will be my brother and you will stay with me and we will play in the garden every day and I will show you my cat and and and...." he rambled on, unable to catch his breath, he just had too much to tell his TaeTae.
