During the production of the LNER B12, there was a prototype that was made. This B12 was a mixture of a b12 and a GWR Halls class, having the number 3962 and a black livery. His name was Kalijah, he was a rather silent type. He Had the piston rods of a Halls class and the body and wheel alignment of a B12. Out of all his brothers and sisters, his favorite two were 98462 and 8752, who were later named Alfred and Hazel.

He never did pull goods when he was in his early age, but he would do what he was told. Later on he had an accident with a LBSC E2 known as Cahlil. Kalijah's piston rods were replaced after this.

Years went by and by 1957 he was withdrawn from service. He was later hid by his sister Hazel in a forest. Soon he was covered in a green tarp and stayed there while his sister puffed away.

30 years later, he was uncovered by a man. He went by the than Bertram T. Hat. Later that day he was brought to a new railway and was later restored.

Instead of being repainted black, Bertram Hat chose to repaint him blue with the number 87. And later had the Letters "N.W.R" painted on his tender.
