Part 2

Second Chapter:

Two days before going back to school:

Draco P.O.V

"Draco did you get everything you need for this year?" Narcissa asked Draco. "Yes." Draco said annoyed

Why can't she just leave me alone for Merlin sake!! I refuse to call her mother especially after forcing me to be a death eater and then making me call Granger a mudblood! Wait. Why did I just think that?

Narcissa snapped Draco out of his thoughts. "What would you like for lunch" Narcissa asked again to the annoyed Draco. "I don't care, at this point I would rather go home." Draco said to his mother. "Why are you acting strange honey?" Narcissa asked Draco. I went silent. I didn't have time to answer anymore dumb questions.

We went back home and ate lunch in silence and after I cleaned the kitchen and the living and dining room, and after that was all done, I went and got a shower and started packing my things to go back to school.

Why am I constantly thinking about Granger? Do I have feelings for her or do I just feel guilty for not helping her when she was being hurt over and over by my aunt? I don't know anymore. I just have this strong feeling for her but I can't let her know it.

"Maybe I do like her, maybe because she is the brightest witch of our age and that she is just beautiful." Draco smirked.

Hermione P.O.V

"Hermione!" Ginny called. "What do you need Ginny?" I asked as she came running down stairs into the living room. "Guess what!" Ginny said putting a surprised look on her face. "What is it? Tell me already!" I said. "So....you know how word travels quickly about things, well I overheard someone talking to Blaise Zambini about Malfoy, and turns out Malfoy told Blaise that he is head boy..." Ginny said worried. "WHAT?!" I yell, making everyone look this way. "Sorry guys." I said as I lowered my voice.

I go up to my room that I share with Ginny and get in the shower and then go to sleep, but tonight it was hard to sleep.

Why of all people did McGonagall choose Malfoy? She knew we had bad history. He was the reason behind the scar on my arm that spelled 'Mudblood'. Why? Not only do we have to do our duties together, but I also found out that the Boy and Girl heads had to share a room, but from the heads from last year said that it was two separate rooms but one common room and one bathroom that they both had to share...

I dosed off to sleep while thinking about all this new information that I had just found out.

--Time Jump: two days later------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hermione P.O.V

I was already at the express when I saw Malfoy come out of the brick wall. I might have smiled a little, seeing how mature he has become.

I might have a tiny crush on him, but why? I mean he is handsome...just then someone came and snapped me out of my trans and it was no other than Malfoy. What did he want?

"What Malfoy" I shot him a deadly glance. "Well, I just wanted to let you know that I know you are Head girl." Draco said with a smirk on his lips. "Okay...why did you tell me this?" I said putting on a 'you-know-that-I-don't-care-type-look'. "We should meet professor McGonagall on the train before we get left." I said while having a shocked look on my face because I just saw Ron kiss that no good Lavender. "Why do you have a shocked look on your face Granger?" Draco asked. I ignored Draco and ran to the train without letting a tear fall. "HERMIONE!!!" Draco yelled. I saw everyone staring at him while he was running towards me.

I ran directly to the bathroom on the train and started to cry. I thought to myself, why would Draco Malfoy care? What has gotten into him? Has the war really changed him that much?

Draco P.O.V:

I saw Hermione run off after looking at weasel(Ron's nickname) and his no good lover, Lavender. I ran after her. "HERMIONE!!" I yelled trying to get her attention. She looked back at me and still ran. I noticed everyone staring at me including her best friend Ginny, but I didn't care. All I knew was to go make sure Hermione was okay, but then I got interrupted by McGonagall telling me to come and sit down so we could start talking.

"Professor" I asked. "Yes, Draco?" Professor McGonagall had asked me. "Can you excuse me for a minute? I need to go talk to someone" I asked wanting to go talk to Ginny. "Sure but be back fast." McGonagall said.

I walked to the compartment where Ginny was. "Hey..can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked Ginny. "Yeah, what do you need ferret?" Ginny asked. "Well, I wanted to ask what was wrong with Granger? She just took off running after she saw weasel and Brown kissing." I asked. "well let's just say that Lavender isn't a good influence on Ron." Ginny told me as I got up and walked away heading back to the first compartment where I saw Hermione talking to Professor McGonagall.

Hermione P.O.V:

"So, professor we have to walk to corridors at night after curfew to make sure no children are out of bed and if they are then we bring them to your office?" I asked making sure she got this all down. "Yes, and if I am not in my office then walk around until you find Filch." Professor McGonagall said. "Hello, Professor, Granger" Malfoy said with a smirk on his face. "Well it's about time you came back Malfoy" I said with an annoyed look. " I know you two don't get along well but try to put your differences aside so you can complete your duties as Head Boy and Head Girl." McGonagall said. "Okay" Malfoy and I said at the same time.

"You can go now" McGonagall said.

"See you later Professor" I said as I was getting up to leave the compartment.

"We have a meeting with McGonagall at 7pm in her office, the password is Lemon Drops" I told Draco, while walking to the compartment where Ginny, Luna, and Neville were sitting at.

"Okay." Draco said walking to go find his Slytherin friends.

"Hey Hermione" Luna said. "Hey guys" I said to everyone. "I might not be in the great hall tonight. I want have to go talk to Professor McGonagall." I spoke. "Okay, we will still save you a spot just in case you have enough time to come back and eat dinner with us." Ginny and Luna said.

Draco P.O.V:

"Hey Blaise" I said sitting across from him.

"So, word has spread about you and Granger" Blaise said to me as I looked out the window admiring the view.

"What about us?" I asked Blaise.

"Well, everyone saw you that chased after Granger and you even called her by her first name." Blaise said.

"Well, that's because...never mind. Forget I even said anything, it's really nothing to worry about. Well, it's about time we get into our robes, because we're almost at the school." I said to Blaise.
