(So long story short we started a new rp, I call it this cuz, well you'll see.)

Deep in a forest there was a village, each of the people believed in the "dragon of truth" a beast that could sense a lie from anyone, to live there you must undergo a trial, go into a cage, meet the beast, and tell it your darkest truth.

A young traveler named Jupiter happened to be going through the forest where he stumbled upon the village. He needed somewhere to stay but didn't know of the trial needed to have housing there.

The chief saw him, "hello young one, what are you doing travelling the forest? Its dangerous you know." He asked.

"I was actually looking for somewhere to stay until I could figure out where I am or where I could be going. Can you help me?" he replied.

"Of course but, we are religious people, if it's not a bother could you please take part in a ceremony? Consider it a welcome gift." He said.

"what kind of ceremony?" He questioned, not wanting to be in some blood oath or something.

"A simple one, all you need to do is go into the temple, enter the cage say your darkest truth to the beast that enters, and it will free you, you may help yourself to food and water beforehand." He said, "if it doesnt free you we will after an hour."

"Oh, uhm, alright" he agreed with a small nod, not even sure what his darkest truth was.

The old male smiled, "here, have some food and water, there is a path to the temple." He said, "you may leave when you feel ready."

He gratefully took the food and water and after some time and thinking he started heading towards the temple, still not sure what his darkest truth was.

He watched the boy leave, "good luck young wanderer." He whispered, as instead of being freed, if Jupiter was to lie he would be poisoned by the beast, left there to starve until death.

He continued down the path until he found the old, worn out temple, taking a breath before entering and locating the small cage. He stepped on the plate in front of the door, slightly surprised when it swung open. He stepped in and tensed slightly when he heard the creaky door click shut behind him, knowing he was stuck without an answer to his darkest truth.

A beast heard the creaking, slowly awakening to "test" another human, the creature reptilian, its eyes slitted into green pupils, its skin covered in scales that speckled with black though mostly dark green in color.

He sat on the cold floor of the building, thinking still of his darkest truth.

The wings spread from it's back, stretching before it left the cave it slept in, it peeked into the temple, anke (able) to fit into the large doorway, growling as it saw the boy sitting there.

Friend: (anke)
Me: (shut up)

He jumped at the growl, looking up quickly to see the large creature with a gasp.

He huffed, watching him and waiting for his confession.

"I- uh" he started, his mouth dry. "I don't know what my truth is" he said quietly yet honestly, looking at the dragon in more wonder than fear.

The creature was tempted to leave, though he knew it was the truth, the first one he has been told so far, he slowly changed from a beast to a human like form, a scorpion like tail behind him along with wings, his ears sharp.

His eyes widened, watching in surprise as he changed.

"Hello fragile, little, cute, human." He growled, looking through the bars, naked as he looked the other up and down.

"H-hi-" he squeaked back, still shocked as he backed up slightly.

He chuckled, swiping black and green tipped hair out of his face, "no need to fear, I will spare you." He said.

"Y-you will?" he asked, not realizing something bad could have happened aside from not being released.

He hummed, "of course, but I'd like it if you stayed in this meadow." He said.

"why?" he asked softly, curious but not against the idea.

"Because, your the first one to have told me the truth." He said, "aside from the villagers of course, you are the first wanderer to actually admit it."

"And what happened to the others?" he asked, wondering if the chief of the village was telling the truth of them coming to let him out an hour later.

"They died." He shrugged, not caring.

"I see" he said softly, moving closer to the bars of the cage.

(And from there I went to bed)
