Operation: watership down

Untitled Part 1

It was a beautiful morning in watership down as every rabbit was getting ready for a meeting with campion as a temporary leader until hazel -rah and his family came back from their holidays.

One day, Pipkin was feeling strange as he hopped around the warren.

He hasn't feeling well in days and every time he felt pain he tried to hide it from bigwig and blackberry so they won't worry.

"I sure hope, hazel-rah,primrose and their kids would be back from their holidays soon, I miss them"

Pipkin sighed. Suddenly pipkin felt another pain,

"Ohh" he groaned, he sat down, can't hold back the tears falling down his cheeks. He sniffed and looked up. 'Why me, I'm having pains for a while now, why me?'

He hopped back to the warren as there is a meeting, he held back the pain and hopped along again.

At the meeting

"Silence you lot. The royal meeting is now in session *laughs* I always wanted to do that" Bigwig laughed jokingly. Campion rolls his eyes as the meeting started.

"The meeting is about how to cure sickness, we all know blackberry is the best healer, so we should find another cure, something we all need."

Everyone agreed with campion, especially pipkin and blackberry.

'I sure need one now' pipkin thought as his pain started to worsen.

He held back the scream and tried not to cry but the pain got the best of him and he sobbed. The rabbits noticed and came rushing to him with worried looks.

"Oi, pipkin, whats wrong?" Bigwig asked, concerned.

"I- I d-don't feel g-good" pipkin sobbed while In pain.

Blackberry hopped up to him and asked him in a soft voice

"Pipkin, where does it hurt?" She was worried about pipkin as he was always so full of energy and happy but today....made her even more worried.

Pipkin shakily pointed his paw to his belly and cried as it got worse

Blackberry put her paw on his belly then his head as pipkin cried out in pain.

"Poor lad" bigwig shook his head in sadness.

"Don't worry bigwig, pipkin is gonna be fine" spartina tried to reassure him.

Bigwig was, however not relieved, he was extremely worried for pipkin.

"Oh dear, I think I know what's wrong with him" they heard blackberry say in sadness. She sighed as she told them the news

"Pipkin has a really high fever...it could be fatal" the rabbits gasped and asked millions of questions.

"How bad?"

"what's gonna happen to him?"

"Is he gonna be okay"

"This is awful"

"Enough" bigwig shouted. He looked at blackberry with a worried look

"how do we get help? We can't do anything to stop the pain. We don't have a cure at all" she sighed.

Bigwig does have a point, but one thought came to her mind as she hesitantly told the others.

"well...the only thing we can do is....to take him to humans" the entire warren gasped.

"What? Humans?" Asked hickory in a worried tone

"We can't trust them" said another

"They're evil And hurt animals" another rabbit cried

"look...I know humans are dangerous to us...but what choice do we have?

Do you want pipkin to suffer and die or do you want him to get treated by humans so he can get better" blackberry retorted.

The other rabbits looked at each other and looked back at blackberry

"Well, I say we should take pipkin to the humans, I remember a rabbit say some of them are not bad. I really want pipkin to live" bigwig stated.

He certainly didn't want pipkin to die from a sickness. He was gonna be an owsla captain one day. He would be proud of him when he does.

"Then it settles it then. Tomorrow, well take him to humans and hopefully

They'll treat him better" campion declared as the others cheered and left.

It was nighttime as bigwig was getting ready to sleep until he heard pipkin crying. Poor pipkin, he was really sick and fiver,hawkbit and dandelion tried to comfort him but he was getting worse as they left to sleep.

Bigwig looked at pipkin in sadness. 'Poor lad' he thought sadly

He felt a paw on his shoulder and saw blackberry looking at him sympathetically.

"Look.. I know your worried bigwig..I am too.. But he needs us and I'm sure when the humans treat him...he'll be the same old pipkin we love"

Bigwig sighed "I know but....he hasn't been well lately and I'm getting even more worried by the second... He's a good lad and... To see him suffer like this"

Bigwig looked at pipkin crying in pain and he couldn't help but hopping up to him and placed a paw on his back, as If to comfort him.

"I know he hasn't been well lately but....he didn't tell us... Which surprised me"

Blackberry stated in a surprised tone

"Well that surprised me as well. Usually he would tell us about this kind of thing.

He never hides it from us... Something must be wrong here"

Bigwig said as he rubbed pipkins back trying to soothe him.

"Well whatever it is, well find out eventually. Until then, we'll have to sleep so we can take him tomorrow" she said as she looked at pipkin sadly and left for her warren. Bigwig however, decided to stay with him.

He hopped towards him and let pipkin snuggle into him as he laid down.

"Don't worry pipkin, you'll get better soon" he whispered into his ears as he tried to sleep and, to his relief, he did.

He smiled at him softly as he slept near pipkin, keeping him warm.
