A girl in her twenties was drying clothes in the village streets of Devipur. She lived in a house with her mother and loved her to the core of her being, weeping for her mother everyday. She was a high school student and persuaded her studies. Her father, Arvind Das, always wanted her to earn an education and become an independent woman. The only income they had was the pension her father received after his death. Since then, she suffered a great deal. As the income was inadequate, she worked a part-time job.
'Maa, yeh le,chai pee.' Bondita, who was always mindful of her mother's needs, said this.
'Beta, zameendar babu ko chitthi likh dena, bohut dinon se haal chaal nahi poocha hai maine.'
'Yeh kiya hai maa? Aapko hamesha unki fikar rehti hai, par unhe to kabhi rehti hi nahi. Baba ke chale jaane ke baad unho ne ek baar bhi hamse poocha tak nahi aur aap hain ki hamesha unki chinta karti rehti hain. Unhone aapko apni behan maana par kiya woh ek bhai hone ka farz nibhaate hain? Nahi na.' Bondita, who was extremely irked by her mother's attention towards her so called brother who didn't even bother to ask them about their situation, commented.
'Beta aisa nahi hain, woh bas kaam main thoda vyast rehte hain, isi wajah se shayad unhone nahi poocha, par tu chitthi unhe likh de, samjhi aur haan main aur koi bahane nahi sunne wali.'
Bondita began writing a letter as instructed by her mother, and here is what she wrote:-
zameendar Babu,
Kaise hain aap sab? Main aur Bondita bilkul thik hain. Bohut dinon se hamari baat nahi hui, isi liye thodi pareshan thi. Aur aapki zameendari kaisi chal rahi hai, ummeed karti hun, achchi chal rahi hogi. Aap sab apna dhyaan rakhna aur haan is patr ka uttar zaroor dena.
Sumati das.
Despite the fact that she didn't want to write the letter, her mother's order forced her to as she knew how much her mother loved her brother.

'Arey, mini kaisi ho tum? Aur yahan achanak, matlab sab thik to hai?' Asked Anirudh.
'Kiyun Anirudh, tumse milne nahi aa sakti. Aur tum to apne kaam me itne busy rehte ho, socha main khud hi jaaun.'
'Kiyun nahi, bilkul aa sakti ho, aur waise bhi main soch hi raha tha ke tumse milne aaun, par tum to jaanti ho ki mujhe kitne kaam hain, isi se bas nahi aa paya.' Replied Anirudh to her one and only best friend.
'Kitne achche lagte hain dono saath mein, haina Shubadhra?' Asked Mini's mother sipping tea.
'Han yeh baat to sahi kahi tumne, ab jald hi dono ka vivaah karwa dungi aur phir hum dono doston ka rishta aur bhi mazboot ho jayega.'

At evening-
'Bade malik, aapke liye chitthi aayi hai.' Said Bihari who was running and panting hard
Trilochan Roy Choudhary was a well known Zamindar of Tulsipur who appeared strict, but was actually very kind-hearted. People in need have always been helped by him. Although he accepted Sumati as a sister and always tried to help her, she never took a penny from him. Her personality was not one that would earn money without making any efforts. Trilochan Roy Choudhary and Arvind Das were close friends, so they knew each other well. After the demise of Arvind Das, Trilochan shifted to Tulsipur and stayed there.
He took the letter that was brought by Bihari. He read the letter and tears filled in his eyes as he was feeling guilty for not even sending a letter to her. For some reason Sumati didn't call him, instead she wrote a letter and that too in a formal way. He made his way towards the telephone and called her.
'Hello?'
' Han, Sumati Behen, Hum Trilochan bol rahe hain. Kaisi hain aap sab?'
'Ohh, Zameendar Babu, Haan, Hum thik hain. Aap kaise hain?'
'Hum bhi thik hain. Aur Bondita beti ki parhayi kaisi chal rahi hai?'
' Achchi chal rahi hai, aur ghar pe sab thk hai na?'
'Han, sab thik hain. Hamen maaf karna, hum itne vyast the ki samay hi nahi mila baat karne ka.'
'koi baat nahi. Hum samajhte hain.'
' Thik hai phir rakhte hain, agar kisi cheez ki zaroorat ho to batana.'
'ji thik hai' Said Sumati and hung up the call. Bondita questiond her-' Kiska phone tha maa?'
'wo zameendar babu ka tha.' Said Sumati who knew very well that Bondita will get angry after listening this.

Precap:-
'Zameendar babu, meri tabiat thik nahi hain, Par mujhe nahi marna, Main agar mar jaungi to Bondita akeli par jayegi, use kon sambhalega.' Sumati cried profusely on the phone. She was not well since many days and now her headache got severe. Blood started oozing out from her nostrils.
'Aap chinta mat kariye, hum aaj hi shaam me aayenge aap ko Tulsipur lane. Yahan aapka ilaaj bohut achche chikatsak se karwayenge.' consoled Trilochan who himself was very much worried about her.
