" MOM! MOM! I'M HOME! " You shouted, your voice echoing through your empty house.
' hm, she's not home. yet again. oh well. ' you thought to yourself, while setting your bag aside and sliding onto your sofa.
You popped open a bag of chips and switched on the TV. You lazily flipped through the channels and suddenly your phone rings. It's your mom.
" Hey mom, where are you? " You asked, holding the phone with your shoulder and flipping through channels
" I'll be home in a little bit, there was an accident here. There's some leftovers in the fridge, heat that up, make sure to get to bed by 10 okay? Alright, i'll talk to you later, bye " Her voice sounded unsteady, like she was clutching something in pain, and trying to stay calm at the same time.
You pushed all your worries down, and decided on the fact that she was fine, and she'll be here by morning.
You switched off the TV and went to bed, hoping that she'd actually come back. You couldn't afford to lose your mother, too.

I woke to the sound of banging on my front door. It was 3 in the morning, who could possibly be at the front door? Though, the banging did sound urgent, it sounded as if they'd been there for hours.
I got out of my bed and lazily went to open the door. When i did, i was wide awake. The police were at my front door.
" Hello, is this the (l/n) residence? " An officer, with a name tag that read " Takahashi ", asked.
" Yes...why are the police here? " I ask, my voice almost trembling.
" We've come to inform you, that you're mother has died. We are very sorry for your loss. You'll live with your aunt, who lives nearby. " The officers voice became a distance echo in my ears. I suddenly became very sweaty. Mom lied. Mom lied to me. She wasn't coming back, in fact, she wouldn't even be alive. She knew this. Why didn't she tell me?
The world around me suddenly started to spin, and my vision went black.

You'd woken up in a hospital bed. Your head was throbbing and your eyes were stinging from the sudden bright lights.
" HE'S AWAKE!! " You heard a familiar voice say, which couldn't be any of your blood relatives.
" Oh god, thank goodness your awake, y/n, i thought i was gonna lose you too. " Another familiar voice from beside you said, which sounded like your aunt.
Your vision started to clear up and you slowly looked around. Mikey was waving doctors over, and your aunt was next to you, rubbing your hand and clutching her chest.
" auntie? mikey? what happened, where am i? " your voice came out as a harsh whisper, and your aunt instantly hushed you.
" You'd fainted, but you hit your head on the bump between the concrete and your doorway, so you were bleeding a tremendous amount. " your aunt said, brushing the hair from your forehead.
" oh...why is mikey here? " you asked, your eyes straying to mikey, who was talking with a doctor
" he wanted to check up on you. also, he told me a lot of stuff, we'll talk about it later. " Your aunt said, stroking your hair with her freshly painted nails. you nodded and drifted off into sleep again.
