The large doors to the King's throne room were pushed open, just enough to let one man enter the room at a time.

"The daily report, Your Majesty"

"Go on"

"Ice on the ceiling from the commoners' district has been melting. Natural light has been sighted."

His majesty let out a deep sigh. Icuvell had been frozen solid for the past five hundred years, the last time this kind of occurrence happened was when the the first king had been assassinated by the head maid. His son, the prince, who was known to be emotionless wept for days. On the same time, the portion above the commoners' district had also opened up. It was only luck that the prince was able to come back to his senses and get rid of the vampires before they severely damaged the inner portion of the kingdom.

It seemed to be that history was going to repeat itself soon.

The cracks in the ceiling grew bigger day by day, so much that Emilia could see the yellow light seeping through, all the way from the palace.

~

Strange light passed through the little cracks in the walls a little more each day. It was fascinating... to Emilia at least, and just about every other citizen of Icuvell.

The amount of seeping light hit a wider area, and it was more concentrated at that. Emilia made time to marvel at the ray of light that touched the commoners' districs. There seemed to be a strange gradient between the far end and the inside; it seemed to be more... colorful?

The ice there looked like it had changed its color, into some strange shade or tone that she had never seen before. It had looked more lush and full, as compared to the glow-stones' light on this ice.

Anyhow, it was dazzling, in its own way, and undoubtedly very bright.

Emilia lay back on her bed, smiling at the small hole on the ice ceiling that seemed to lead to outside. 'Would outside... be as colorful as the light that covered the far end?', Emilia continued to ponder. That seemed to be her daily schedule- sleeping, studying, eating, and thinking about outside on almost all her free time.

"Well, hey there, Miss princess person", a small, strangled whisper escaped from the under the side of the bed she was on.

"AH!", the princess stumbled off the bed and reached for the door.

"No, wait, don't!", the entity raised its voice by a notch, emerging on the side of the bed she was on, but just enough so to show its pitch black hair and emerald green eyes.

It looked pretty human to her. She loosened up.

"What are you?"

"Uhh me? Oh, I'm me. Yeah", it seemed to stutter.

"Let me ask again, what species are you."

"What's the point in asking.... Oh are you trying to judge me for what race I am?", it gasped while placing its hands over its heart, acting hurt.

Emilia frowned.

"Cool down girly... though its not like you can be 'colder' here than you already are. I'm probably just what you are."

Emilia shook her head, sighing, "Since it clearly shows that you do not wish to expose what species of being you are, at least show yourself."

"And how do I know you're not hiding some weapon behind your back?", it took a peek above the border the bed provided to be.

Her hands were dangling, relaxed on her sides.

"Because I'll go call the guard stationed on the other side of the door to get you."

"Well, it's not like I want to get caught...", it chucked under its breath, getting up on one knee after the other, and standing upright.

'Shocked. That is probably the emotion I am experiencing at the moment', Emilia thought to herself. The mysterious entity had a tall, and fit figure. Its shining emerald eyes stood out from its black hair and pale skin. It wore strange-looking pieces of tight clothing with a large pair of neat holes on its back, from the shoulder area down to the waist. The being was beautiful from top to bottom. But what surprised her wasn't his stunning figure, but rather the large scar on the left side of his face.

She neutralized her emotions the moment she noticed them, "I'll suppose you are male."

He smiled back, "Sure", while taking steps backwards to the balcony of her room.

"Then adios."

He waved his goodbye, leaning backwards, plunging downwards from the Princess' balcony.

'Wait', she breathed, her eyes widening. It took her a full five seconds to realize what was happening- that person fell off the balcony of a five story building. A five story building. Anybody would have died from that!

She ran to the balcony, panicking, and abruptly stopped right at the railings, leaning over, peering down to the dark abyss that ended at the floor before the gate entrance to the Castle.

"...Huh?"

She didn't see a body.
