Downpour, gale, thunder, and lightning—all of it bundled into a package seemingly just to annoy you. Stepping outside of the college library, you instantly feel the cold air, chilled by the long lasting horrid weather spewing out huge droplets of water. You let out a sigh as you resign yourself to having to bike back to your apartment in the rain. You check the time on your phone, and it's already past eleven. Shivering all alone on your bike in the pitch black, rain shooting down from up above, all you can think about is how much you want to take a shower and get in bed.

You slowly come to a stop in front of your apartment, where a woman is standing under the second floor balcony. "Taking shelter from the rain?" you ask as you park and lock your bike in front of your apartment building.

Letting out a little chuckle, she replies, "Yeah, it doesn't seem like it'll stop raining anytime soon, though." You can see that she's soaking wet, from head to toe with her articles of clothing half translucent. Her white crop top hugging her body reveals the bra underneath, and for a moment, your eyes are glued to a place where maybe they shouldn't be. "You can stop looking, you know."

You silently curse yourself for being an idiot before averting your eyes. "That's my bad, I'm sorry," you say, and in an effort to change the subject, you add, "How long have you been here? You need an umbrella or something?"

She purses her lips and tilts her head as she contemplates how to answer your question. "Well, I don't think I'll need one. I just need to find a place to stay the night, and I'll uber there. Thank you, though."

"Good luck searching for a place," you respond. You open the door to your apartment and step inside when a wave of guilt washes over you for leaving a girl out in the rain. You decide to step back out, and as a gesture of goodwill, you offer her your place as a refuge from the rain. "If you want, you can come in till you find a place for the night."

"Really, can I?" She immediately lights up as a smile appears on her face. "No take backs."

"Yeah, of course. No take backs." Holding open the door for her as a gentleman should, you let her in. "I know it's not much, but you can chill on the couch if you want. I only have water in the fridge; I've been trying to cut down on my consumption of unhealthy drinks. Oh, and before I forget, I'll get you a towel."

You walk back to the living room with a towel in your hand, and you see for the first time how pretty she actually is. Sitting on the couch, engrossed on her phone, she doesn't notice as you study her face. She has hazel eyes with dark brunette hair and a really nice figure that complements her beautiful face. Before she can catch you checking her out, you hand her the towel and sit on the couch on the side opposite from her. Receiving the towel from you, she smiles at you and says, "Thanks for being so kind. I'll leave as soon as I can. I'm Madison, by the way."

"That's a great name, mine is Y/n, and no worries at all. What were you doing out so late?"

"Oh, I was just, you know, doing some soul searching and wandering around when it suddenly started to rain," she says and pauses for a second before continuing, "Yeah, that's about it." The way she talked made it sound like she was talking very calculated, as if she didn't want to overshare, so you decide not to push the topic any further.

Before you sit down on the couch, you realize your stupid ass wanted to take a shower, so going against common sense leaving a stranger alone in your apartment you tell Madison, "Stay as long as you'd like. I'm going to take a shower now, so please don't steal anything. I'm trusting you. If you need anything, just knock on the bathroom door."

"Yeah, of course," Madison replies, flashing that damn smile that, for some reason, just makes you believe her.

Your body's all clean now, but you still let the water run on your body for a while to process everything. The day started out uneventful, but out of nowhere, a gorgeous woman appears in front of your apartment. She then trusts you enough to stay in your apartment for a brief respite from the rain. You can't believe that the rain you found annoying at first brought you such a girl. Lost in your thoughts, you hear two knocks on the bathroom door, pulling you back to reality. "Give me a minute," you say. You quickly dry yourself and change into your pajamas, and open the door to find Madison standing right in front of you.

"You know, it might be too much to ask, but can I maybe, if it's not too much of a hassle, stay here for the night?" Madison asks.
