"I know," You mumbled as he springs onto your lap and snuggles his head into your stomach as a single tear falls from your face. "I hope it'll become easier...but look at who we're running from,"

You woke up to loud crashing sounds and raised voices. K2 was already awake and pacing around the floor anxiously. You rubbed your eyes and swung your legs over the bed and pressed the button to open your door. You followed the sound and you saw everyone shouting. They were all in a circle screaming at the top of their lungs. Peter was shaking his head and was leaned against the wall next to you.
"What's happened!?" You shouted over the noise.
"They're fighting,"
"Why?"
"Because their argument turned violent," You nodded your head.
"Where's Yondu?"
"I don't know but he'll be pissed when he sees this mess,"
"I can imagine," You say, leaning against the wall with him.
"How's your third day goin'?" He asks as if the fight wasn't happening.
"Better than running from planet to planet," You say as you avoid eye contact and look on at the Ravagers.
"Fair enough," Then a loud whistle was heard and silenced filled the room. Everyone scattered making you see a frightened man on his knees with an arrow pressing against his forehead. You turned your head to see Yondu enter the room with a scowl.
"Just want some peace 'n' quiet and now I have to listen to this?" He growls. "Can y'all ever shut your mouths and let a man sleep?"
"Sorry Capt'n," Everyone said in sync beside you and Peter. He summoned the arrow back to his side before he locked eyes with you.
"Come 'ere, got someth'n I wanna show yar," You nod and quickly follow, K2 wheeling after you.
"What is it? Did I do something wrong?"
"No," He says as a door opens and you both step inside, K2 jumping up to your hand and you placing him on your shoulder. "I was goin' through ya stuff,"
"Rude," You respond and he laughs, shaking his head.
"Nothin' personal, just yar weapons," He picks up a blaster. "Terrible weapons these 're," He comments, shaking it and causing a loud rattling sound to emit from it. "C'mere kid," You walk over to him. "I'm 'bout to show you how to use one of these and how to make 'em yourself, got it?"
"Yes sir,"

Date: 2012

You and K2 were on the lookout while he went inside and stole the prize. You were currently cleaning one of your blasters when K2 began to whir beside you.
"What is it?" He beeps. "Shit," You quickly pick up your comm. "Quill, we've got incoming,"
"I've almost got it," You grab your binoculars and zoomed in to see Chitauri guards being led by her.
"Yeah, Pete, get back here, ASAP!"
"What's the big deal? A few police-"
"Not the police, CHIRTAURI!" You exclaim angrily, gathering your things before pulling your helmet over your head. "Time to go,"
"I've got it!"
"Well done, now get back to the ship before we're both toast!" K2 attaches himself to your weapons belt as you jump off the cliff edge before activating your jet pack and flying towards the ship. You get on the ramp and your hand hovers over the close button while you wait for Peter. "Dang it, Quill where are you?" But instead of his voice coming over the comms, it's static. "Shit! K2, start the ship up!" He squeals before wheeling away. You bite the inside of your cheek, leg bouncing as you look into the vast forest. "Come on, Quill," You hear blaster fire and see flashes within the trees. You grab your blaster, hand still over the button. The engines roar to life, a sign K2 is ready to get the ship airborne.
"CLOSE THE RAMP!" You then see him, running backwards and firing at the Chitauri chasing him. You hit the button and then see her green skin and long black and red hair. Peter manages to jump onto the ramp before it's too late.
"Now, K2!" The ship immediately takes off and zooms into space. "Get us on course to home," He beeps back and sets the course. Peter is laid against the wall and holds his side. "You didn't answer your comm! I thought you died!"
"I could never, here," He throws the diamond at you and you catch it.
"Wow, you actually got it," You admire before wrapping it in cloth and setting it down.
"Make sure...it's worth it,"
"What do you mean..." You trail off as you watch Peter pull his hand from his side to reveal blood. "PETER!" He falls faint and you quickly catch him. "K2! We need the medpack!" You brush some hair from his face. "Don't do this to me, Peter! Not today!" K2 comes wheeling in with a medpack balancing on his head. You grab it before lifting Peter's shirt. Trying to not get distracted by his ripped build, you spray his wound before getting a swab and cleaning it. "This is going to hurt...I don't know why i'm saying that because you're not conscious," You mumble before cauterising the wound. Once finished, you examined the wound done neatly. You smile softly before grabbing bandages and wrapping them around his body.K2 coos and nuzzles into Peter while you stand and wash your hands.

Your waiting for him to see if he's alive comes to an end sooner rather than later. With grunts and complaints, you slide down the ladder of the cockpit and walk over to him.
"You left me on the floor?" He groans before you slap him around the face.
"That's for almost dying on me!" You slap him again. "And that's not for dying!" He holds his face and looks at you in shock.
"Shouldn't you be happy I'm not dead,"
"You had me scared shitless!" You exclaim, throwing him a new shirt. K2 mumbles beside him before zapping him.
"Hey!" K2 makes a laughing sound before running for safety behind your legs.
"Next time, don't do stupid stuff like that!" You growl and he laughs. "Why are you laughing?"
"Didn't know you cared about me so much,"
"Of course I care about you," You say in a softer tone. "I don't want you dying on me,"
"It's a good thing Yondu taught you how to tend to wounds," You sigh and shake your head.
"I'm glad you're still alive," You move over to him and sit next to him as he pulls on a shirt. He wraps an arm around you and you rest your head on his shoulder.
"Don't worry, I ain't leaving you any time soon,"
"Promise?" You raise your pinky.
"Promise," He wraps his pinky around yours and shakes his hand. K2 growls and Peter laughs. "And I promise I won't leave you anytime soon, buddy," He squeals with joy before jumping in Peter's lap.
