Being summoned as a chosen hero to another world. Yes, the dream life of every shut-in highschooler in japan.

A life of living freely as an adventurer, using magic, fighting monsters, having love blossom with a party member, and ultimately defeating the demon king and saving the world.

Up until recently I was living the life of a shut-in highschooler in japan.

Due to a certain set of circumstances, I was now living the life of an adventurer in a parallel world, currently holed up in "The Town of Beginnings."

As the name suggests it's a town made specifically for just starting adventurers.

I figured everything would just fall into place and it would be just like it was in manga back home in japan. However ...

"Damn it! How did it all end up like this."

I've played out the scene a hundred times in my head but I still can't believe how messed up it is.

The moment I arrived in town, I went straight to the adventurer's guild and registered there.

When I walked in, it was almost completely empty. Just a few employees sweeping around.

It was an adventurers hall, but apparently it also served as an inn, a bath house, and a bar.

I spotted the registration desk and walked over to it.

There was a professional looking lady standing at the desk. You could tell she'd been in the business a long time.

"Welcome to the adventurer's guild! I haven't seen you around before, are you here to register?"

The counter lady gave me a wide customer service smile.

"Yes, I just arrived a little while ago."

"Well there's a small registration fee of 5,000 pieces."

I looked into the bag of coins I had on me. In total it held about 15,000 pieces. It was a necessary expense.

"Thank you! If you'd like please step over there so we can create your adventurer card, or if you already have one ..."

I stepped to the side.

Their desk lady brought up a thick brown card from under the desk and placed it on the table along with a small pot of ink.

"Please dip your thumb into this ink pot and press it right here into the card."

I had to admit, I was expecting something a little more flashy and magical. I guess it doesn't really matter in the end.

A little disappointed, I dipped my thumb into the ink and pressed it into the corner of the card.

Almost immediately, the ink from my thumb ran all along the card, glowing a wide range of colors and formed lines and characters.

"Whoa!"

I jumped back a little in surprise. The card displayed brilliant multi-colored lights but finally settled down again.

When it was over, the ink turned black again and had all sorts of information on it.

"Then please sign your name in this spot right here."

The lady pointed to a blank line on the top of the card and handed me a quill pen.

Still startled from the sudden light show, I grabbed the pen and hovered over the spot she showed me.

A name huh? Guess this will work.

I wrote Keima in the designated spot. The ink seemed to correct itself to match the font of the rest of the card.
