"She's gonna be pissed."

"I know, Nix. We don't really have any other options."

"Me and Soren could-"

"Doesn't send the same message as me doing it myself." Pierre drums his fingers on the steering wheel, assessing his plan while his attention remains glued on his target. The dark tint of the windows hides the occupants of the car down the street from view but does nothing to protect the man pacing beside it. "She's gonna kill me when I get back."

Nix hums in agreement, binoculars raised for a better look. "Gonna have to decide soon, boss. Looks like they're getting ready to leave." The engine of the car in question rumbles to life, the target leaning in through the open rear window to shout something unintelligible at the driver.

Swearing under his breath, Pierre digs a pen and a scrap of paper from the glove box and sprawls a quick note, handing it to his second. "Tell Soren to put key four in an envelope with this and give it to her. Hopefully it'll stifle her rage enough that by the time I get home, you'll be able to stitch me back together once she's done tearing into me. Oh- and tell him to keep her away from the cabin. I'm sure you and I will need it."

Nix nods, sliding out of the coupe in a crouch. He still didn't know how she moved so silently; the door didn't even click when it closed, like it knew making a sound meant it's untimely demise. Pierre watches in the rear view as her shadow slinks along the candy colored cars. The night seems to bend to her will, keeping her cloaked in black as she creeps to the black sedan parked three back. Her knuckles rap thrice on the window before it rolls down. A flash of pale skin is all he sees as she shoves the note into Soren's waiting palm. Soren does nothing to acknowledge the woman, only leans back further in his seat.

When Nix returns and Pierre slinks away from the curb after their bounty, Soren stays put.
