Silence... Eli's heart was thumping in his chest. Out of nowhere, the door flung open. Nothing, just cobwebs and old belongings. Hesitant, he took a deep breath, and walked in. It was awfully dark. From what he could see, there was rusted shelves, rusted pipes, dust everywhere, cobwebs and a... A fairy-like door? There must be a torch or something in here Elijah thought. It was cold and damp in the basement, almost like no one had been down there in decades. Then, he decided to check the shelves for a lantern.
"No."
"No."
"No. Wait yes! There's a lantern!", Said Eli surprised.
Elijah checked to see if the lantern was an electric one or a fire-lit one. Fortunately, he found a switch, flipped it and the lantern gave off a dim light and surprisingly, there was a small, rigid key that stuck to the lantern by a magnet. All of a sudden, the small, old door started to shake violently. Eli crept over to the door and the shaking came to a halt. Frightened, he slid the key into the door and turned it. The door creaked open a bit. Eli reached out a hand to open the door, but before he could, the door swung open and a fleshy, boney hand with razor-like claws reached out, grabbed his arm and pulled him in and the door slammed shut...Moments later, amongst the silence, a pool of
blood poured out from beneath the door...
"Eli! We're home!", Mum shouted.
