Jisoo POV

That damn weather report! It said that it would be 30°C tonight but it doesn't seem so, considering how heavy the rain is pouring outside. I must have been stupid to trust the forecast.

Ugh. Everything around me was irritating me right now. My boss gave me permission to leave early. By what? An hour and that already got wasted due to the cab drivers cancelling the ride after they agree. I mean why agree to come and then cancel? The sun has set completely. It was getting dark slowly. All my colleagues got picked up by either their family or boyfriends. Times like this make me wish that I had a boyfriend. Or a girlfriend as I was homosexual.

There weren't many cabs considering the weather and few that are available won't go until my location. It was understandable as it was almost a 4-hour drive from here. But I won't be able to see Jennie if I don't go today.

Well, you must be wondering what is going on well. Jennie is my younger sister and she is bedridden in a hospital in my hometown. While I work here to support ourselves. I need this job to pay her medical bills. So, I can only visit her on weekends and since it would be Sunday tomorrow, the fare prices would be really high.

At last, a cab! But this time, I am going to call them first to make sure they are indeed going. I need to convince them no matter what, even if it means that I have to beg them.

"Hello," came a girl's voice through the phone.

Her voice was really, how I tell that? Umm. I don't know.

"Hello. I just wanted to confirm the address once again. Also, please don't cancel. This like already the 17 th time today. I really need to be there. I can even pay extra if you want– "

She giggled making me stop my ramblings.

She spoke, "don't worry, stranger. Just relax. I am on my way already. I will be there in a few minutes. And you don't need to pay me extra."

Her voice was really soothing. It makes me want to trust her. What a sweet talker. Also, the fact that the driver was a female made me more relaxed.

She was here in less than 20 minutes like she said.

I sat in the front, making her surprised.

I spoke first, "well, you are late but at least, you came."

"I only said that I will be here in a few minutes. I didn't mention how many minutes exactly. So, technically I am on time. I thought you would ask for my name but it's okay," she replied.

I didn't expect a playful answer from her. Jennie would like her. But I don't think Lisa wouldn't like that. Lisa was really possessive when it came to my sister.

"Umm. I actually didn't mean it. I was just trying to lighten the mood but I guess it already was light. I am Jisoo and you?" I spoke my mind.

Time skip

It has already been almost 2 hours. I didn't even realize that we had been talking for that long. I lost track of time talking to her. She makes me forget all my problems when I am taking to her. She was really cheerful and positive. Something that people used to call me. And now, no one would even believe that this was me. If someone had told my teen self that she would be like this in the future, she would have laughed at them.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear her calling my name.

"Jisoo, are you okay? I have been calling you but you didn't respond."

"Oh! Nothing. I was just thinking. Sorry, what were you saying?"

She repeated, "I was asking if you had your dinner already or you want me to stop at a restaurant to eat?"

"Umm. What about you?"

"I still haven't eaten and I am really hungry right now," she said as if she was angry.

I couldn't help but smile at her childlike tone. And I didn't really expect her to be honest.

"There you go. You look so beautiful when you smile. But seriously, I am hungry and would appreciate it if you gave me an answer," she said smiling.

My heart fluttered when she called me beautiful.

"I haven't eaten yet. Do you know any place to eat around here?"

"Well, I do."

Time skip

We were in this restaurant called 'Homemade'. It was clean and the food was delicious too. I attempted talking to her as we ate. I just realized that I hadn't talked to someone like this in a long time. Not even Jennie. I can't tell her everything as I don't want to worry her.

"Then, why do you drive a cab? I'm curious but you don't need to tell me if you don't want to tell me."

"No, it's okay. This is like a part time job. I'm actually searching for a job but I decided that doing something than sitting idle until I get my job would be better. So, I started driving a cab."

"Oh, that's so cool."

Time skip

I honestly wanted to freeze time. I was really enjoying her company. She is so genuine, caring, and thoughtful. I can literally talk about her good qualities for the rest of the night. I am going to have a hard time keeping my mouth shut tonight. One word out and Jennie would tease me about it until she gets something else to tease me about.

I was outside the hospital now.

"I really thought that we clicked but I guess this will be the last time I see you."

She replied, "well, if you want we can exchange numbers and keep in touch."

I gladly agreed and gave her my number.

I don't know if there is a chance that we will end up together, but let me just enjoy being in love with her.
