It's been a long torturous week since Taylor's last seen or talked to her best friend. Her heart broke at the memory of how badly things turned on their last night together.

*flashback*

"Again, you're overreacting." Taylor said coldly closing the door of her hotel room, as Karlie brushed by her fast. "I'm overreacting?" She asked incredulously. "Yes, you are. It just slipped my mind to respond. I'm sorry. Is that what you want? An apology? Then there you have it. I'm sorry!" Taylor didn't mean to sound so angry but the model's actions were frustrating her.

"I don't want your fucking apology! I don't-" Taylor's never seen Karlie in this state ever before and it terrified her how much she must've pushed the model for her to lose her temper like that. "What happened, Taylor?" Her voice dropped to a resigned tone. Taylor looked up and caught her defeated gaze, she didn't know what had happened, but something's shifted between them at some point.

It was like Taylor was always one step ahead and Karlie couldn't quite catch up to her.

"This isn't just about tonight." She said bitterly, and Taylor just looked at her. "This is about every time we hung out after those-fucking ridiculous rumours!" She took two long strides until she was towering over Taylor. "Tell me what have I done so wrong that made you this dismissive of me? I really thought I was your best friend-" Taylor interrupted her with a sharp look. Heartbreakingly watery but sharp nonetheless. Her lips trembled, as if she was trying to say something but couldn't due to the sob that threatened to erupt.

"I have never been this unhappy, my entire life. I've never felt this miserable, Taylor-" She whispered shakily, biting her lip harshly as she kept saying all the wrong things, breaking Taylor further. "And I'm tired of constantly trying to figure out all the ways I've done you wrong. It shouldn't be this hard." Taylor's tears were now freely falling down her cheeks, as her mouth failed to express the crushing amount of feelings that sat heavily on her chest.

Taylor didn't know what to say. She didn't want to open her mouth for every time she did, she would screw up somehow.

So she flattened her palms against Karlie's chest as she rested her forehead against the model's shoulder. She could feel how tense Karlie was, just by limply leaning on her like this.

Taylor inhaled the sweet scent of the model as she turned her head so that her nose pressed against the crook of Karlie's neck and wrapped her arms around her waist.

"I need to leave." Karlie said resignedly, but did not make any move to break free from the singer's desperate hold.

Taylor started sniffling softly against her and it broke her heart. She wrapped her long arms around Taylor's neck brushing the back of her head comfortingly. She hated how whenever she saw the singer cry she would drop everything and comfort her even with the way Taylor's been treating her.

"You-mean the world to me. You know that..." Karlie's voice held a finality to it that shook Taylor to the core, so she held on even tighter. "...but I can't keep-you're my best friend, but I don't feel I'm yours." Taylor cried harder, crumpling the model's dress in her fists as she shook with sobs. She couldn't bring herself to talk.

"You have no idea-"Taylor sniffled as she pulled away abruptly. "You have no idea how much you mean to me! If you leave-why-why would you leave me now?! Of all times why is it now?" Taylor asked frantically. She hoped she made sense, given her head was all over the place. "I need you! Here! I need you now-" she stomped at the word like a desperate child begging for their loved one to stay. Karlie's eye makeup was slightly smudged due to the constant stream of tears now.

"What about me, huh? What about what I need? I needed my best friend for the past two months I've needed you more than ever. but you couldn't care less." Karlie's voice broke at the last two words looking straight into Taylor's blue orbs. "And if a bunch of silly rumors are enough to break our friendship then I don't know-" Taylor stepped into her personal space silencing her with a desperate glare. "They're silly to you, not me." She took a shaky breath looking at everything around her in a desperate attempt to calm the raging fire within her.
