A while ago as in, centuries ago, there were laws put in place to prevent monopolies. This basic statement brings me to my current predicament. Why do they still exist?
Right now, think about what internet provider is alowing you to read this right now. Now think about how no other compainies are challenging their grip on the industry. If you don't think that is a HUGE example of a monopoly then I don't think you can function in the modern economy.
I know some of you think I shouldn't be thinking about this as I am a 12-13 year old but I also have opinions on this matter and if you can't accept that I may be a little more advanced than some of my peers then maybe this isn't the reading material for you.
So, continuing what I was saying before, this is a huge problem because, if you look at the big picture, they get what they want no matter what.
The other day, I saw a graph that illustrated the average speed of Netflix on most of the major internet providers. If I can find the graph again I'll attach it in the media section. Comcast flat out robbed Netflix. The line dips way down the shoots way up. Guess when Netflix finally gave in to Comcast's demands. It's actually pretty hilarious.
In conclusion, that was my rant about internet compaines and monopolies. Please check back daily for more rants like this and other stuff. Stuff that makes you take a step back and wonder " Why do people still like humanity?".
