AN: The video i linked is the song that inspired me for this oneshot, it also hits different if you read it while listening to this.

You and Dabi were sitting on an old sakura tree behind his childhood home. The place was set ablaze with blue fire, and brought a rather calming aura around you as the pink petals fell down gracefully to the ground, and mixed with the ash being blown by. He looked on to the horizon, he felt conflicted sort of. It was strange and he didn't like it. He didn't like how he felt the tinge of guilt he felt when his father would fault him for something, something that he either didn't do or couldn't control because of his quirk. But he was also happy for finally getting the revenge he always wanted. Well- it wasn't exactly how he pictured it, he was only burning the house down and there was nobody in it to be feeling the hellish fires he caused. But it was at the very least something he could enjoy while he brews up a plan to finally kill his father. But you on the other hand were just happy to be with him, and was glad you could be there with him to help with the burning. He sighed and took a deep breath, the scent of burning wood filling up his nose as he turned to you.

"You know, I sat here too when I just needed to watch the sunset..relieved the pain just a little.." he said. You saw in his eyes a heaviness, the heaviness you would feel when someone you love dies. You couldn't help but place a hand on his cheek, his head flinching slightly but let you touch him.

"It brought you hope didnt it? Hope for a better life?" you asked, reading his tired eyes carefully.

"Yea, it did..I really thought there was gonna be a light at the end of the tunnel.." he muttered out. He hesitantly placed a hand over your face and closed his eyes.

"It may have not been a bright light, but at least you have a dim one, it could turn brighter in the future" you said quietly, letting the howling wind and chirping cicadas speak for you. Your words were filled with hope, but with a tone of hesitance, as if to not dare to wish so high for fear to set yourself up for disappointment.

"Yea...maybe that could happen.." he said more quietly, his eyes opening back up and peering into your eyes filled with the hesitant hope. He started to lean in closer to you, your eyes lighting another kind of fire inside of him. It was one he thought could never spark again, that it was put out for good. But with the way you were so beautifully hopeful in that moment melted him down to that point. It was slow but when it hit him it was almost like a pleasant surprise. He was sure that this time you won't be going anywhere, it couldn't possibly happen.

Your lips connected in a chaste kiss, one that felt almost sad but was made for comfort. His other hand holding on to yours. His caliced hand felt warm with yours, and his staple stitching was a little cold from the brittle cold air. Your fingers intertwined and fitted perfectly with each other, as if you two were made for each other.

He let go of the kiss and looked at you, this time his eyes didn't seem so heavy anymore. He placed his left hand on your cheek and made you look up at him

"Maybe your the light i'm gonna let shine...
