Dreams Crushed

My name is Ryan Keller. I have always dreamed of becoming one of the most famous baseball players there ever was in the MLB. But one day... All of my dreams were crushed.

It was just a regular Saturday game day. Well, sorta. Today was the big day that the Detroit Tigers coach was going to come to watch me play for the Beach Bums. He was going to see if I had what it takes to be on the team. I am a pitcher. Pitching was all I was good at, that's why I want to be in the MLB! I want to fulfill my dreams and never let go.

As I ate my breakfast I began to get a little shaky. I said to my mother, "What do you think is going to happen to me today? I mean, will I Make it? What do you think?" She replied, "I think you are going to be just wonderful an that you will wow that coach!" All I could do is smile, and say, "Thanks."

I did my regular training after breakfast as usual. 100 push ups, 50 sit ups, and I ran a mile around my small town. Believe it or not, I'm really excited! 2 hours til the game! As I ran I kept thinking about the possibilities of being in the MLB! I could do so much! And I could make my family sooooo super proud! I can do this I thought. When I got home I thought I would sleep for an hour. So I did.

When I woke up, I realized I better hurry up and get ready! It's almost time for the game! I hurried up and got my game face on. As I ran in a panic I stubbed my toe! Dang dresser! Then I started to laugh, nothing could bring me down. Not

now. Or so I thought...

I rushed around until I was finally ready. I ran upstairs and quickly grabbed my jacket and car keys. Then I remembered to go to the bathroom and get my MLB application. Finally, I was ready to face the world. To make my dreams come true. Nothing could ever upset me! So I ran to the car with a smile on my face and drove off..

"thank you. Thank you! I am sooo happy to be here today! I have been looking forward to this for my whole life. Nobody thought I could be in this position. I spent years thinking I wasn't good enough an I never will be. But I will be able to prove all of those people wrong today! Right here, right now! Get ready to see the best darn game Ryan Keller had ever played!" He said looking straight into the camera.

I started shaking. But honestly, I couldn't be any more psyched. Everything was going my way. For once. I couldn't believe this was happening! Especially to me, Ryan Keller! A small town boy who knows nothing about the world he's going into. Nothing about what he'll do if he doesn't make it. What will I do if I don't make it? No. It's not time to think about that. It's my big day. My dreams all made real. I can do this. Nothing about this is bad. And if I don't make it...WHO AM I KIDDING! If I don't make it, what will I do with my life? These questions lingered in my head.
