Two years.
It had been exactly two years ever since that incident in Hyrule.
Nobody could have known, heck, not even imagine, that such thing would ever happen. After a whole century, the princess, with her brave knight by her side, finally managed to defeat Calamity Ganon. But..
To what use?
The unexplained phenomenon of the blood moon, the reason that dead monsters would come back into flesh and bone, did not go down with Ganon. Everybody knew that it was connected with that beast, but this was something out of this world.
The monsters, upon resurrection, were even stronger, even able to take down the strongest of knights in all the land of Hyrule. Monster attacks in villages were even more frequent, something that made even one bokoblin dangerous enough to take a life. Homes were being trespassed by critters of all sorts. Nobody knew what they wanted. They were just looking for bloodshed. There was no other explanation.
Even the strongest hero was not able to stop these attacks. When one beast was killed, three more arrived. And then five, eight, ten. Whole hoards of them. There was no other choice. They needed to use the Sheikah's secret invention.
And that's exactly what they did.
A secret invention, that could transfer an entire land into a completely different dimension. One that was certain to be safer than their own. They were not sure what this land would be like, but they could not do anything else. They couldn not stay there and keep on getting slaughtered by the monsters.
And with that.. the princess, no, queen of Hyrule, gave the final order. The sheikah used the machine that transported the landscape of Hyrule, as well as its people, into a new world: our world.
It was.. confusing to say the least. Both for Hyrule's residents and for the residents of this new world. All that was going through their heads was "where are we?"." Who the hell are these people?". It was shocking to see a new big island appear near Japan, that was full of brand new races. It was unlike anything that the humans had ever seen. But soon, despite it being hard to believe and understand, they had no choice but to help the new races settle in.
They took the time to help them rebuild their land. It was different than it once was, full of modern houses, streets, restaurants, markets and everything else that you see in an average city. No matter how much time it took, people all over the world contributed to that goal, once they realized that the new races just wanted to live peacefully. They taught them the new technology, showed them how to elect mayors and presidents, made them familiar with driving, all that was needed to survive and be happy and peaceful at the same time. It took two years for them to get accustomed. Perhaps there are still things that need to be taught.
But the progress was there. And it was real. A new life was sure to begin from the moment they set their foot in the new world.
Which brings us to today. The country received the name Kōshihai (高支配, which is a pretty close translation of "Hyrule"), located right underneath Japan. The cultures between the two countries were extremely similar, so the Japanese were the ones that helped the new races get settled in. They kept the currency of rupees, as well as their mother language, Japanese.
And so it begins.

"Link..", the voice echoed. It was quiet and faded. Almost as quiet as a gentle breeze at the beach.
"Link, it's time to wake up..", that soothing voice continued. Why was it so persistent? He was just fine in his own dreamland. As it continued to call him out, a sudden memory passed through his mind. That felt.. awfully familiar. Some sort of deja vu hit him. No.. Not that again. Perhaps he should listen to it and do as it says. What if something bad has happened? He would certainly pay if he just ignored it, just like how it happened one hundred years ago.
