The rain was gradually turning into a scary storm. Those drizzling drops were in no way sounding soothing, as her mother always said.

The sudden lightning and that thunderous roar were indicating the misfortune she was leading to. Her bloody arms were the evidence.

She knew it; mother had told her about the slow but definite outcome of the curse. Curse, that soon will be turned into a brutal death sentence.

She knew it was the indication of the clouds — which were pouring blood — of the mishap she feared the most.

Yes, it had started the destruction.

Splashing the water on those muddy concrete roads, her feet knowing no way to the stop, tonight.

"Don't escape death but run for the precious life" mother's words were ringing in her ears.

Clutching the worn-out jute bag in her hands, she was constantly at her fastest pace. Running for dear life, little did she know it was just going to be a collision with her ill-fate.

"How far do you think you can go, my baby darling!?" His nasty voice caught her attention.

His filthy laugh followed by his scary voice was making her more disgusted and feared than she already was.

The sound of the Jeep kept coming closer with each passing second.

For once she was startled, but she knew there's no time to think about it. So, she did what she was doing for the last 2 hours — running — amidst the ravaging storm.

The smiling faces of her beloved parents were spinning in flashes in her mind. The scene of their brutal murder — from just 2 hours ago — darkening her vision, over and over again.

All the scratches and bruises were just making her believe stronger, for the clouds to be pouring blood, for if she misunderstood it to be the simple rain; even for a fraction of night.

"You know I'll be taking you with me as soon as I get the hold of you, which won’t take too long, still you choose to run that too in this stormy weather, so not fair my tiny baby darling!" His pathetic voice again reached her ears as he seemed to get nearer to her.

The terrifying tone of his awful voice was sending more and more chills down her spine. The dark stormy night seems to be turning eerier with every echo of his monstrous laugh.

Covered in sweat, her muscles were all sore now. With each fibre screaming pain, she was now on the verge of collapsing.

Still running with all her might she collided with the only source of light that had appeared suddenly in front of her.

As a normal reflex action of a human being, she covered her eyes with the back of one of her hands. Stretching her fingers more, she tried to cut the direct contact of the penetrating light with her eyes.

With trails of sweat dripping down her head she parted her lips trying to suck as much air as her mouth could.

Beatings of her frantic heart going haywire with the seconds passing like sand. Controlling her raging breaths, she slid her hand off her face, slowly.

A series of frowns etched on her face as she took a few minutes to register the sudden occurrence of a bulky object in front of her.

No sooner did she realise what it was than a peal of devilish laughter roared along with the rumble of the menacing thunder. Exactly at the moment, a bolt of lightning crossed in the dark sky flashing his face visible enough for her to recognise him.

"Noooooooooo....."
