"I can't believe they actually named their kid after the cat", Raven snorts as they all plop into the hospital cafeteria chairs. Her friends sitting around the tables all lack her energy and resemble zombies as they poke and prod at their breakfast. Some of them have been working all night, while the others have been at the hospital during the entirety of Octavia's long childbirth as moral support.

Clarke herself had stopped by several times during her shift to check up on the progress, despite the hectic pace of the emergency room. Needless to say, she had also been stunned when the couple named their child after an Aristocat, for the stray that they had rescued that one New Year's Eve. She didn't really quite understand why they cared so much about it. If anything it probably should've been Clarke and Lexa who cared because that was the night they met. Though, in hindsight Clarke would never say she quite understood Octavia's motives. Octavia just kept charging forward at breakneck speed.

It was endearing how many people had showed up to see the little one. Murphy had even offered to have his gangster goons surround the hospital to make sure nobody would bother Octavia. His heart was in the right place, but Bellamy had blanched at the idea. Especially since he's a cop and would technically have to arrest them if they tried to surround the hospital. Murphy was endearing in his own way, despite his current position manspreading in his own chair, dozing off with a rather obnoxious snore.

Nobody could really blame him. All of them were desperately fighting off sleep.

"Lincoln's always been sentimental like that", Luna says with a shrug. She's right. Lincoln is the most gentle soul all of them have ever met, even if Bellamy would never admit it. He always pretends to be angry at Lincoln for one thing or another just to nitpick. The first few months that Octavia dated Lincoln, Bellamy even found an excuse to arrest him.

Lexa nods in agreement and downs the rest of her cup of tea before glancing at her watch. "Duty calls. There's no paternity leave for me", Lexa sighs. She plants a kiss on Clarke's forehead who smiles in exhausted appreciation.

"Easy, just have a kid and you'll get a leave", Jasper jests as Lexa leaves, arm around Maya who's feeding their son. His lopsided smile that oozes carefreeness does not match Clarke's reaction.

Clarke chokes on her next bite of breakfast bagel. Bellamy pats her back halfheartedly, still staring off towards the general direction where Octavia's room is. "Cut that out Jasper, we're not even married."

"What, scared of Lexa hearing it?"

Clarke glared at him. That was exactly what she was scared of. The all too real reality was that it had taken her forever to get into Lexa's heart and she wasn't eager to push her luck. Lexa was her world, and she didn't want to risk losing her if she could help it.

"Griffin, you're still scared of taking it too quickly with her?" Raven snorts rolling her eyes as she munches on a breakfast taco. The fact that the cafeteria even sold tacos for breakfast was astounding. Nevermind how the woman could fathom having a taco for breakfast. "You two have been together for four years now. I don't think that's going fast at all."

"Yeah considering how you two u-hauled on the first date, it's not going fast at all", Jasper echoes.

"Who, my daughter and Lexa?" Walking up to their table comes Abby Griffin and Nyko. Nobody needs to hear the context to know the reference just made to their sudden move in together after beating around the bush for months on end.

Clarke starts blushing scarlet at being caught with her friends discussing her relationship by her mother. "Did you two need me for something?" she asks, almost jumping out of her chair in a hurry.
