Hawks Apprentice

Kaylee Hawk. Adopted Professional skateboarder. Those are some of the things that people say I am. I'm not a 'Professional' skateboarder. My uncle is Tony Hawk and he taught me how to skateboard. Skateboarding is my life. My parents died and my uncle was the only relative that was willing to let me live with him.

Everybody treats me differently when they hear my last name. When I came to San Diego and started middle school I was like the queen of the school. Everyone wanted to sit by me at lunch. It wasn't like that when I was in elementary school in Miami. Back then only my best friends knew that my uncle is Tony Hawk. I told them after they became my friends because I didn't want them to only be my friends because I'm related to Tony Hawk.

Now I'm in high school and I'm not the queen of the school anymore. Once people found out I'm adopted they stopped hanging out with me. Nobody wanted to hang out with me anymore. I stopped eating daily last year. My uncle didn't notice until last month, when he took me to the doctor. I found out I'm anorexic.

I have one friend, Allie Pierce. We have known each other since 6th grade. We are in grade 10 now. Shes obsessed with some boy band. Her whole room is covered with posters of them. They are like 3 years older than us, though.

I have a twin brother but he got kidnapped at age 12. We never found him. Now almost everyone thinks he is dead but I refuse to believe it. I miss him so much. He is the only reason that I'm still alive. I have to find him.

Anyway, I love it here at the Hawk Mansion. I have a huge room with a walk in closet and my own bathroom! Its as big as a living room. I have a purple carpet and red curtains in my room. I'm not a girly girl. I HATE dresses and pink. I have a lot of boy clothes because girl clothes aren't very comfy sometimes. Whenever my uncle goes shopping for clothes he always buys me a Hawk shirt. I bet he gets a discount because its his brand. I'm not complaining though, because those shirts are super comfy.

Did I mention I hate my height. I'm 5 foot 7. I hate being tall. But I love to play basketball so I guess its okay.

I just wish I had a normal life
