Chapter 1: Eggs

Axel POV:

I wake up from the loud crowing noise coming from one of my chickens, the bright yellow beams of sunlight peaking through the blinds of my window. "Why did i decide to get chickens again? I don't even eat eggs." I say as i rub my eyes and start standing to start my day. "Right, i sell them so i can actually get money for stuff". I start walking down stairs before accidentally tripping on my long pink tail, "Shit!" I yell as i fall down the stairs. I hit the floor with a loud thud, it takes me a while to get up as i groan from hitting my head on the floor. I manage to walk to my kitchen to start making breakfast during this horrible start of my day.

Time skip to 4 hrs later since I'm lazy

I get ready to head out to town to meet my acquaintances and sell the eggs I've collected from my chickens. I grab the basket full of eggs and my trusty bag that contains my spell book, some potions, and my sword as i plan to go adventuring after selling the eggs. I leave my house taking a few steps before realizing that i still have my axolotl features "whoops, that would've been bad" i whisper to myself as i change my appearance to hide my tail and gills. I start my walk towards town which would take at least 40 minutes or so.

Time skip

I finally sold all those eggs for 20 gold coins, which is pretty good for a basket of eggs. I head to the cave located near the pier before stopping by a huge ship. "damn, wonder who owns that thing" "some say that pirates own the ship but I'm not sure if i can believe word of mouth" i jump not expecting someone to say that from behind me. I turn around to see that its only felix, the local baker "Christ felix, why do you always sneak up on me? Also did you say pirates?" "Yep" "As in travel the seas pirates?" "What else could i mean?" "Okay then, welp it wasn't nice seeing you so bye ". I wave to felix as i start walking in the direction of the ship.

I always thought of venturing through the seas but i was never able to since i would need a boat, i mean i can just swim since i can breath underwater but its not like my stuff is water proof. Suddenly a thought came to my head.

What if i sneak into the ship? No. I might get caught. But what if i enter from one of the windows at night, yeah that might work but i would need to be very very careful. Wait a minute, AM I ACTUALLY THINKING OF DOING THIS?! Ok lets think first, Pros: ill end up being able to travel the ocean, i might meet some nice people, this might be the adventure of a life time Cons: they might kill me, they might feed me to the sharks...wait I'm an axolotl, i can talk to fish. So the only con is they might kill me. Well seems the pros outweigh the cons so might as well.

I end up deciding to try and sneak into the ship so i wait until it gets dark before i try and board the ship. Night time hits and its time for me to put my plan into action. I head to the dock and jump in the water so i can get closer to the ship easier without being noticed, i swim around the ship checking which window i should enter from before deciding on the one closest to the back. I crawl up out of the water and into the window finding myself to be in some sort of hallway. I look around the place before suddenly hearing voices coming my way, i panic and enter the door closest to me which lead to what looks to be a storage room containing crates full of food. I decide to hide behind one of the crates, "i actually made it into the ship" i hapilly whispered to myself "since I'm pretty well hidden i might as well sleep here for tonight." I say to myself as i close my eyes and start to fall asleep.
