(Maroon's POV)

Mommy woke me up. I stretched and mommy helped me out of bed. We headed out of the bedroom and then I noticed daddy was gone. "Where's daddy?" I asked. Mommy looked down at me. "He's....... doing something sweetheart." "Okay mommy." I spoke. We headed toward the kitchen. When we got there, Pink was boiling something on the stove. "Hello Pink!" I called. "Hey, Maroon!" she yelled back. Mommy made me some cereal and began to talk to Pink. According to mommy, Pink was her old high school friend. After a bit, Pink walked over to me. "Hey kiddo," she said. "I saw your papa earlier." "Where?" I asked. "Here." She said. "He went to the gap room." I slid off my seat and began to walk to the door. "Where are you going?" she asked. "To see daddy!" I answered. Then I ran to the gap room. When I got there, I found daddy sighing against the ladder under my feet. I climbed down onto his head. "Hey, kiddo." He grumbled. "What's wrong daddy?" I asked. "Just a little thing." He replied. He stood up and I almost fell off his head! "Here, Maroon." Daddy said. Then he gave me a glittering Jem. "I stole it from the vault, kid." He spoke. "Keep it as a lucky charm from me." he said. I nodded and then pocketed the Jem. "Now," said daddy, "I'll give you a piggyback ride to the kitchen."

(Yellow's POV)

Where was Maroon going? If she was going to see Red, then he would probably answer with nothing if she asked him what was wrong. Why wouldn't Red just tell her the truth instead of babying her? I left the kitchen without saying bye to Pink and walked toward the gap room. As I reached the engine room, I saw Red's foot swing into sight. I was about to yell out to him when he appeared, but... BANG! I was interrupted by something crashing through the roof. I got a split-second look at Red standing in the brig hallway his expression changing dramatically as he and Maroon (who was on his back) screamed loudly as what appeared to be a huge comet smashed down right in front of me. The force of the comet smashing into the floor sent me flying backward. I rammed into the wall and Red and Maroon came running to me. Stars popped in front of my eyes before everything went dark.
