A New Kind of Adventure

Boredom

Sonic the hedgehog was currently sitting on top of a hill in Green Hills, overlooking the deep blue sea. He was watching the sunset. He had a long day today, and was using this time to relax in one of the better ways he knew how to. Reclined on a hill, arms behind his head, one leg crossed over the other, and staring at the beauty of nature.

He had stopped Baldy Mcnosehair's evil schemes yet again. Dealing with him alone and no other much more serious threats was starting to get stale. Really stale.

"I need to get out of here. Go do some shit for fun." Sonic grumbled, jumping up to his feet.

He stretched his body as he got ready to start running again. Just before he bursted into a sprint, he stopped.

"Where should I go?" Sonic pondered. He looked off into the distance and crossed his arms and began tapping his foot.

This is what he usually did when he started getting deep into thought.

"Hmm...Maybe I can....No That'd break apart the planet and that was a pain....And I lost that bracelet so that's a no.....What if I...? No that'd fuck up the time stream and I'd get an earache from Silver....What if...Oh! I know!" Sonic perked, clapping his hands together.

He began stretching once again. "Never can stretch too much. Well you can but that's besides the point." Sonic said to himself as he finished up.

He took off running into the distance. He ran and ran and ran, quickly gaining speed as he ran across the world. And then ran across the world again. And then again. And again. And again, until...

BOOM!

There was a huge chaotic multi-colored explosion as Sonic punched a hole through the dimensional barrier and ran through it. This all happened in the span of about three seconds. The hole sealed itself up behind Sonic before anyone noticed it or before it could even be picked up by any kind of scanner.

Sonic came screeching to a halt as he appeared in a different yet similar world to his world. He stood tall and took in a deep breath.

"Ah....Moebius....Same old shit hole." He said before zooming off.

Scourge the hedgehog was in his throne room, exercising instead of sitting on his throne. He was bored as shit but he refused to get lazy. He froze mid pinkie push up, his ear flicked.

"...I know this feeling. Blue's here!" Scourge said before backflipping onto his feet. "Finally! Something to do!" He said as he began stretching. He dashed over to where his jacket was hanging and slipped it on before he ran out of the throne room, ignoring the questioning glances he got from the people he passed.

Both blurs of super speed eventually clashed together above some forest covered mountains, sending out a huge shockwave. They landed in a clearing just a few yards away from each other.

"Yo! Long time no see Blue!" Scourge said with a grin.

Sonic grinned back at him. "Yeah, I know." He said, excited to finally be doing something different.

Both hedgehogs began stretching out their bodies as they got ready to battle. "What made you decide to drop in after all this time?"

"I was bored." Sonic said simply with a grin.

Scourge had to laugh at that. "Seriously? You punched a hole through time and space to get to this shitty place just because you were bored?" Scourge laughed.

"Yeah, I don't doubt you are too since we stopped our usual bouts." Sonic said as he took a stance. "I mean, you ran right to me the moment I showed up." He pointed out with a smirk.

Scourge shrugged in response. "Yeah, you got me there." He said as he kept his stance casual, not even raising his fists.

Sonic began gathering speed in a spin dash before he launched at Scourge. He used the momentum to carry his fist right to Scourge's face. Scourge tanked the punch right to the forehead without so much as a budge.

"Gettin' soft there, Blue!" Scourge said with a grin. He grabbed Sonic's arm before he could back away and swung him into a nearby boulder, which shattered on impact.

Sonic grunted in mild pain as he got to his feet. "Well....Not much has been going on up on Mobius. I was getting complacent." He said as he stretched his back, popping it.

"Sounds boring." Scourge grunted, dashing over to Sonic, who promptly sidestepped him.

"It was." Sonic said as he spinkicked Scourge in the chest, knocking him a few yards back.

Scourge adjusted his position so he'd land on a tree feet first, and propelled off of the tree right back at Sonic. Sonic jumped out of the way of the flying green hedgehog, dodging a punch that split the ground for a few meters.

He spun around to catch a punch from Sonic. He pulled him forward to knee his chest, but the blue hedgehog swung back, avoiding Scourge's leg, and kicking his arm, forcing him to let go of him.

"So what HAVE you been doing these past few years?" Scourge asked curiously as he dodged a flurry of punches from Sonic.

"Oh you know..." Sonic trailed off as he blocked a punch. "This and that. Screwing over The Fatass like usual. Nothing else really." He said as he swung at Scourge.

Scourge sidestepped the punch and elbowed Sonic in the back, launching him away.

"You've really been doing nothing but messing up Eggman's bullshit? Have his plans at least been, you know...not bland?" Scourge asked.

Sonic landed on his feet and struck a thinking pose. "Hmmm....nah." Sonic shrugged. "Nothing really stands out. Most of his plans haven't even been world threatening lately."

"Jesus, that DOES sound really boring." Scourge grumbled.

Sonic and Scourge began trading blows, each of them tanking each other's hits. They jumped back after a couple of minutes of this.

They both began launching some small scale Chaos attacks at each other. Each one of the attacks hit another one. They all canceled each other out.

Scourge launched a bigger chaos attack at the ground at Sonic's feet, causing the ground to explode and dust to go everywhere, shielding him from view.
Scourge jumped up high while Sonic was disoriented from the smoke and infused his fist with Chaos energy. He came down, ready to land the attack on Sonic's head.
Sonic barely dodged it, but not completely, it nicked his shoulder, giving him a small gash that started bleeding profusely.

"Agh! Fuck!" He grunted in pain, jumping back a few times, holding his wound.

"Man, you're really rusty. If you were in top shape, You'd have been able to tank that." Scourge grumbled.

"Yeah yeah..." Sonic grunted, getting ready to Spin Dash.

Scourge crossed his arms. "You know what? Wanna just...hang?" He asked. "I'm not feeling very Punchy anymore."

Sonic stared at Scourge for a few moments before he shrugged. "Yeah, sure, why not? Not like I've got much better to do."

Scourge stood there, rubbing his chin in thought for a few moments. He snapped his fingers when a thought came to him. "Chili dogs?" He asked with a grin.

"Hell yes." Sonic said, drooling a little at the thought of a couple hundred Chili dogs to chow down on now that he had worked up an appetite.

Scourge chuckled a little. "Come on, I know a good place. And I own it so we'll eat for free." Scourge said before zooming off, Sonic hot on his heels.

A/N: And that's the first chapter done! Hope you all enjoyed reading my crappy writing. It feels good to get back into Sonic after spending so much time away from the fandom. But I'm back for good now.
