Hello and welcome! This is my very first story, so I apologize for any hiccups that may occur. Before we begin, here is some helpful information to know:

(Y/N) is what I will be using to refer to the protagonist (you) as. I will be using female pronouns/descriptions so I apologize to anyone who is male/gender neutral. Please feel free to replace the pronouns in your head/think of your own descriptions as you go if you feel uncomfortable with the way I described you.

This is a various x reader, which means you will be interacting with multiple different characters over the course of the fic. This is NOT a one-shot book, it is an overarching story, so I will do my best to reach every character as best I can. Some characters you can expect to see are: the Once-ler, Greed-ler (though both he and the Once-ler are the same person, they are vastly different in personality), the Lorax, Brett/Chet, the Once-ler's mother Isabella, Aunt Grizelda, Uncle Ubb, and a few surprise characters that will appear later. Not all of these relationships are based on romance, though as this is an x reader, you can fully expect it to come eventually.

When you first start reading, you'll notice the Once-ler's personality shifts quite often and you may not agree with how he's portrayed. I found it very hard to pin him down as a person, as throughout the 2012 adaptation he really does seem to be an entirely different person each scene in a way that's uniquely him. I ask that you go along with it, as the further you read, the more Once-ler-esque persona he grows into.

Finally, please do not expect updates often. It is in my best interest (and want!) to finish this book as I have been planning it for some time now, but it is very time consuming to write chapters I feel are quality. As of now, the current update schedule is weekly/bimonthly, depending on how fast I write.
