Solvang, South California, Santa Ynez

After 6 months of going their separate ways, Zayn found himself sitting in a coffee shop called Madame Tushay's Shoe House, on a Friday, waiting for three people. It's called a shoe house for a reason. A simple reason that everyone could work out without using no more than 3 of their brain cells.

The shop was located in a distant city, far away from Los Angeles, where Nick, Joe, and Selena lived. Zayn and his mother lived in a town called Solvang. Solvang is a city in Southern California's Santa Ynez valley.

Madame Tushay is a short stubby woman who always wears that pink apron, wrapping around her large belly. She's very nice to everyone that comes into her shop, which is not a lot because of what the shop looked like, probably. At times, Zayn would feel sorry for her, so he'd come to the shop.

A month's passed, and somehow, Zayn's changed a mighty lot. It had only been a month, yet his hands were filled with artsy tattoos and essentials like rings and bracelets. He's been sponsored by a man, who anonymously sent him and his mother loads of money.

She still hadn't forgiven him for running away from home, but after about weeks of persuasion, she finally let him off the hook. Trisha Malik had let go of her alcohol addiction with the help of her son, which was why she got herself a job at a CD shop down the street.

Even though she had promised Zayn she would let it go, she would not refuse to head off work, hours early and find herself in an ancient bar at 3 in the morning. It was ridiculous.

Zayn looked at his watch; 3:46, it read. He stared out the window and squinted his eyes as the sun hit his face. The streets were quiet as usual; no one drove in cars anymore.

They're supposed to be here, he thought to himself. Where the hell are they?

Madame Tushay rumbled around her drawer, looking for something to do apart from cleaning her cups, for she had done them about six hundred times now. No one ever drank from them apart from Zayn and herself.

Zayn smiled as the lady waved at him from the counter, "Want anything else, dear?" she called. Zayn shook his head, trying to be polite, and answered, "No, I think I've had enough for the day." He took a sip from his lemonade and slammed the cup onto the table, harder than he meant to.

He hadn't told Madame Tushay about the three friends coming over, because he thought it'd be funny to see her reaction when she saw that more than two people were in her shop.
