"Aliya...ALIYA!." I woke to see Mrs Mangy's angry face staring back at me. It seems I had been sleeping in class...again.
"I'm so sorry Mrs Mangy, its just that I didn't so sleep well yersterday" I said. Mrs Mangy sighed, her chubby face showed signs of stress and weary. She took one look at me then walked away. Even if she said nothing, I knew my mum was gonna hear about it and my oh my is she gonna make a big fuss out of it.
'RING! RING!' The school's bell rang as tired students rushed down the hall trying to get home quickly after a boring time at school.
I pushed pass them and headed for the school's gate. The sky seemed to be getting dark, I assumed it was going to rain so I rushed home. I had a terrible accident five years back when I was thirteen, our car severed and fell into a lagoon, it was a rainy day at that time. My parents managed to escape but could get me because I was stuck to the car's seat and the car was sinking fast. Well eventually I was pulled out by local divers. Mum said I almost died, ever since then the beach, lagoon, rivers or a heavy down pour frightened me.
"Mum! Am home!" I said to her, she was cooking something nice, I didn't know what.
"Ali your school called, seems like you've been slacking off again." Mum said
"Mum, please can this wait, am really tired, pleeeaase." I pleaded.Mum sighed
" Whatever, but we are still going to talk about it after dinner."
I grunted wearily
"Okay mum" I said climbing upstairs to my room. Lazily, i sat on my bed and switched on the T.V.
"...and this evening by 4:00pm, there is going to be an eclipse. Clover's ville would be a part of it. Also.."
I switched off the T.V, thinking to myself.
"An eclipse huh?." I said. Taking my black leather jacket, I dashed downstairs, I wanted to see the eclipse too.
"Mum am going out for a sec" I said
"Now where do you think you are going young lady." My mum demanded
"I wanna see the eclipse, promise I won't take long, I'd be back before dinner" I replied running out into the streets. I checked my wristwatch, it said 3:58. It was almost time.
The sky got darker as I stared into it, I squealed in delight, the eclipse was starting. I have always thought that the eclipse was a doorway to another world or the past or future. I smiled as the moon blocked out the daring rays of the sun.
"HEY! Get out of the way!" I heard someone call out. I turned only to find a truck coming my direction. My feet were wobbly talk less for it to move cause I was struck with fear.
First I felt pain, then darkness came along. But before I lost sense to everything, I heard one last statement
'...come back home...'
