For a "business dinner," I thought there would be a lot more people here. It looks like my dad and some dude, standing next to Rafe with his family. His dad was about the same height. Completed with speckled hair, and some stubble covering his face, he looked the part of a rich and successful businessman. His wife though... she seemed a lot younger than her husband. There was one girl with tanned skin and sun-bleached hair that looked to be a few years younger than me. She definitely was one of those girls who lived on the beach. You could just tell by the way that she dressed. The last daughter looked like a middle schooler, and she didn't even look remotely similar to her other two siblings.
"Hi, Y/N! We've heard so many good things about you!" a voice coos, offering a cheesy smile at me. "My name is Ward Cameron, I've worked with your dad for as long as I can remember." He walks up to me smiling and shakes my hand vigorously. "This is my wife, Rose, and my kids... Rafe, Sarah, and Wheezie." He points to each of them as he introduces me to them. The girls smile at me, but Rafe glares.
"Hey," I say, waving at them. "Nice to meet you guys."
My 'dad' and the man next to him come next to me. "Y/N, this is my boyfriend Brian."
"It's nice to finally meet you, Y/N," Brian says to me, smiling brightly. "Your father has told me so many good things about you!"
I offer a fake smile. What could he possibly have told Hank? He doesn't know a single thing about me.
"Everyone, come in and sit down. Dinner will be here shortly," Hank says as he leads us to the dining room.
Once we all make it to the sitting room, I make the decision to ignore Rafe as much as possible while we make small talk. We've only had one conversation, but he's a stereotypical rich kid who likes to make unfair perceptions about people he doesn't even know. He was being a dick. Though I don't know much more about him, I already know that I'm not going to like him.
At all.

My dad catered food from someplace called The Wreck, some local restaurant. I could tell it was gonna be good when Brian and Hank carried in the take-out boxes and placed them on the table, the delicious smell wafting around the room.
Hank slaps his hands together and smiles. "Well, dig in, everyone! I do have to apologize for the informal meal, my chef is out of town this weekend. I don't cook, and this is the next best thing I knew everyone would enjoy."
I sit down towards the end of the table, trying to stay away from the Camerons and unbox some sort of seafood stew and take a piece of bread to eat it with. I take a bite, and it's definitely better than I thought it was going to be.
I hear the chair move next to me and see someone sit down in the corner of my eye.
Rafe.
I groan.
"Damn, food that bad, huh?" he comments, readjusting in his chair.
I roll my eyes. "Not the stew per se..." I hint, setting my spoon down and glaring at him.
"Come on princess, we really gonna start off like this? Again?" he asks, rolling his eyes.
I stare him down. "Yes," I deadpan.
I zone out eating my food, not paying much attention to the conversation flowing around me. I don't want to hear about their business, nor do I feel the need to be included in the uselessness of realtors and construction companies. I'm about to get up and leave when Rafe's at my ear.
