"You're mine, and we belong together"
The music ran throughout the ballroom of Prince George's castle, the sweet sound filling his ears with their melodies and harmonies.
He watched as other couples danced, flowing around the dark hardwood floor, some miserable, some having the time of their lives and other black-out drunk.
George was supposed to find his princess and future queen throughout the following week, balls being held every night until he found the one, preferably a young, rich, higher class woman.
George's parents had high expectations for the woman George was to marry, but all week George was seeing anything but the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
"Lighten up George." Tommy, one of George's most trusted guards, whispered in his ear, his remark earning a jab in his side from the tall man, Wilbur, who was standing beside Tommy.
"No, no Wilbur," George started, "he's right. I've been nothing but stiff this entire time." He sneered. Wilbur chuckled at the shorter man's numbness towards the situation."Speaking of lightening up, I heard that Queen Puffy and her children are visiting tomorrow, maybe her daughter will be the one for you." Wilbur said, nudging George's shoulder slightly, a sickly smug grin planted on his face. A scowl found its way to George's face. He wasn't exactly fond of Puffy and her children, but he would have to put up with them for a while.
George heard giggling coming from close by and couldn't help but be curious, his head slowly turned towards the noises to find a small group of girls in beautiful ball gowns, ranging from colours like bright pink and pale yellow. The girls finally pushed the smallest of the group toward where George was standing.
The girl was beautiful, no doubt, standing at around 5'4. She had very curly hair that styled into a neat little afro on top of her head, dark skin and coffee brown eyes that almost seemed to glow. She wore a sage green suit that complimented her skin nicely, she was no doubt the most beautiful woman George had ever seen.
"Hello Prince George," she stared, her voice barely audible. George smiled kindly at the girl, trying not to frighten her with his rather intimidating scowl he previously had plastered to his face.
The girl took a deep breath, steadying herself. "May I have this dance?" She asked, keeping he hands by her sides, in fear of rejection.
George smiled sweetly at the girl and nodded his head. "Of course." He replied, stepping towards the girl, grabbing her hand lightly from her side, walking her out to the center of the dance floor.
They swayed to the music gracefully as the other dancing couples sidestepped around the prince and his dance partner.
The dance floor smelled of expensive perfume and sweat. The two scents didn't mingle well together, but George had gotten used to the scent over time. After all, he had been dancing with countless women all night.

Once they finished their dance, George only thought it was right if he knew the girl's name.
"Excuse me ma'am," George called as the woman started making her way back over to her friends. She spun around to face George, humming in acknowledgement. "If you don't mind me asking, what's your name?" He asked, genuinely curious. She smiled her stunning and kind smile, flashing her white teeth. "Sunny." She said simply, before spinning around again. "Thank you for tonight, Your Highness." She called over her shoulder as she walked towards the direction of her taller friends.
George stood there, blushing slightly, when he was startled by Wilbur suddenly standing at his side. "She seems nice." He said dryly, George nodded. "Why, are you jealous?" He asked, smirking. Wilbur was taken aback slightly. "What? N-no." He claimed, stuttering over his words like he sometimes did when he was nervous.
Shortly after, George and his friends called it a night, heading to their separate living quarters, relying on the other guards to supervise the other people as they slowly filed them out of the ballroom, then out of the castle.
