The rain keeps splatting on the shingles of the house, accompanied by the wind blowing and roaring aggressively. Trees sway towards a specific direction, leaves and thin branches falling off the main trunk. The enraged, departing thunder booms stridently, followed by softer crackles and a spark of lightning.

Yureum and you have been spending your day by the village, helping the labours in the reconstruction of the statue located at the main circle. But, the sudden rain had kept on going on and on and eventually, you both had to take a pause at Iseul's place for the time being.

Iseul tucks Aera under the blanket as the toddler snuggles closer to a soft pillow. Aera's tiny, adorable body occupies very little space on the couch.

Iseul walks over to the sitting area where Yureum sits, her incisors unevenly trimming off her nails. Yureum heaves a long, deep sigh as she gets apprehensive with every passing second.

"Hey." Iseul sits across Yureum.

Yureum reacts with a smile. "Is Aera asleep?" Her hazel eyes sparkle in the dim yet bright light.

"Mm-hmm," Iseul nods and then points at her baby, "She's in deep sleep. Rain does that to her."

Yureum smiles with a sweet feeling when she sees Iseul lovingly looking at Aera who sleeps on the couch by the far end of the room.

You enter the room from the kitchen, a tray of water in your hands. All three of you chug down the water in one go, the trepidation you were feeling drying your throat.

"So, uhm...what are your plans on have kids?" Iseul tries to change the topic, but looks down in embarrassment, aware that she clearly failed.

"Oh we would have kids," You respond, "If our co-mates came back alive or healthy."

"She's right," Yureum agrees with you, "It's difficult to make a baby — or babies — with someone who can't possibly indulge in the process." She shrugs.

Iseul and you can't help but laugh at her words. If optimism was a person, it would be Yureum. If mood-making was a skill, Yureum would be a connoisseur of it.

"How could you make that joke at such a time?" You ask, still simpering.

"My connoisseurship in positivity helps me pave through." Yureum replies.
