It was a rainy and chilly morning. I heard Anne honk the horn of her yellow Volkswagen she just got for her 17th birthday. "Crap!" I said as I saw the time. It was 1:00 and me and Anne were supposed to go to the mall.
I jumped off my bed as fast I could and put on a black tank top with black skinny jeans and combat boots. I quickly brushed my teeth and my hair. "Where are you going?" Asked my mom. "Oh, I'm going to the mall with Anne. She's outside." I replied. "Okay sweetie. Just be safe. I love you." She said. "I love you too." I replied and practically jumped the whole set of stairs to get to Anne's car.
"What took you so long?" Anne asked. "I forgot we were going shopping. And I over slept." I said with a sheepish smile. "Did you eat?" Anne asked with curious eyes. "No. Why?" I said. "Of course you didn't." She replied with a sassy tone and dropped a McDonalds bag on my lap. I quickly opened it and saw an egg McMuffin neatly wrapped inside. Anne started driving. I quickly swallowed the egg McMuffin. I was starving. "You know me so well." I said as I swallowed the the last bite. "I know." Anne said.
Anne quickly parked her car. The mall was practically empty. I was secretly relieved. I hate being in a place with a ton of people. Especially is there's cute boys. Anne was the total opposite. She loved being in crowded places and almost every time she saw a cute boy she would go up to him. Well at least try to. I would always stop her.
We started walking toward the sliding doors. I saw a guy look me up and down. Typical. I thought as I kept walking. "Did you see that?!" Anne said in an excited voice. "See what?" I asked playing dumb. "That guy looked at you. Go talk to him." She said. "I'm good. Thanks for the offer though." I said sarcastically. The thing was that everyone thought I was the pretty one since I had an average body, icy blue eyes, dirty blonde bouncy hair, and, I quote, "the perfect tan". I personally thought Anne was the pretty one. If not the gorgeous one. She wasn't "chubby" or "fat" but she had curves (which she loved), the perfect hazel eyes with gold around them, and brown bouncy hair.
We walked into a JCPenny's and walked out with four bags total. "I think that's enough." I said. "Are you kidding me Madison?" Anne asked. "I've seen too many people in one day." I said whining like a little girl. "One more store an we'll leave. Okay?" She asked. "Fine". I said.
We started walking toward the other store when a fire alarm went off. We sped walked outside with about ten other people (since the mall was very empty) to an exit. "We should go in the car." I said. "I agree. Let's get out of here." We stepped outside. As I stepped on the road I heard a car driving towards me. Fast. I tried to step back but it was too late. The car hit me and I flew about 5 feet across from where I was hit. I felt my spine break into what felt like a million tiny pieces. I couldn't move my legs. I couldn't feel my legs either. And I felt slightly relieved since I couldn't feel the pain. My arms where outstretched. Broken. I thought. I felt the tiny pieces of bone in my nose. I couldn't breathe out of my nose so I was forced to be a mouth breather. "Madison!!!" I heard Anne scream. She kneeled beside me. Her face 3 inches away from mine. "Madison, are you okay?! Madison talk." Anne exclaimed. "I'm gonna miss you. I love you." I said. "No! No! Madison! Wake up! Don't do this!! Don't go! Please!!! I love you!!!!" Anne said as tears rolled down her face. "It's time". I said as I slipped away with the image of Anne still in my head.
