I woke up on a hospital bed. I realized I didn't feel anything. As if nothing happened. I tilted my head to see Anne, my mom, dad, and brother; Charlie. All of them had tears in their eyes. "Hey." I said weekly. No one replied. I got up. I stared at what everyone was looking at. The hospital bed. I looked down to see my body.
I was so pale. I looked at the monitor and saw that I was dead. I stood their not knowing what to do. That was me I was staring at.
Then, I exploded. I bursted into tears. I dropped down on my knees and felt as if I could never get back up. But then, I saw Anne and I knew I had to be strong. I got up and walked over.
I touched Anne's shoulder and felt her shiver as my cold fingers pressed onto her skin.
I waited until everyone left. And followed Anne home. I saw her plop onto her bed and cry into her pillow. I say at the edge of her bed. "Madison? Madison, I know you're there. I can see you." She said. "Best friends forever, right?" I said as I giggled. But it wasn't a happy giggle. It was those giggles you give your best friend when she breaks up with her boyfriend and you try to make her smile. "Sweetie, who are you talking to?!" Screamed her mom. "I'm just thinking." Anne said.
"I miss you already." I said. "I miss you too." She said. I weakly smiled. "So have you done your homework?" Anne said while giggling. "Actually I have. Just cause I'm dead doesn't mean I don't have to go to school." I said. Anne laughed. Hard. I stared at her with deep eyes. "Oh, you're serious." She said. "Yup. I'll just follow you or do whatever I want. Since you're the only one that can see me." I said smiling.
"Well I'm gonna go see mom, dad, and Charlie. See you tomorrow at school." I said. "See ya later nerd." She replied. I jumped off her bed, through the walls, and out the door. It was so awesome I didn't even have to look both ways before I crossed, ironically.
