[Book 5] Sofia The First: Dad's the Word

It was another beautiful day at Royal High Academy, the princesses all went to their next class and waited for their teacher.

"Goodmorning Miss Elodie" the girls greeted

"it is not a good morning, it's a great morning!" she beamed, "because I have some exciting news, at the end of the week, we are taking our dads and daughters field trip at the Enchanted Animal Park!" she said with pride and joy as she twirled around, "again..." she added.

All the princesses are very excited when they heard they are going on a dads and daughters day field trip

"woah, we're going back to the Enchanted Animal Park?" Kari asked

"we sure are" Miss Elodi answered

"this is so exciting!" Amber beamed

everyone are excited but Leona was confused, she turned to Sofia

"What's a dad and daughters field trip?" she asked Sofia

"oh, that's right Leona, you haven't gone before" she said

Just then Amber stood up from her seat and went towards to Leon and Sofia

"we go canoeing with our dads, have picnic with our dads, play games with our dads" she said

"And best of all, we get to see the amazing enchanted animals we've been learning about face to face, nose to snout, eyes to bright purple eyes!" Miss Elodie beamed

"with our dads" Amber finished

"Oh" Leon said with her eyes widen with joy (she can't smile, okay)

"you'll have a wonderful time Leona, even if King Garrick isn't your, real father" Hildegard told her

Everyone was shocked and horrified to what she said to Leona

"Hildegard!" Amber gasped

"why would you say that?" Sofia asked her

"I just meant that he only became your dad when he and Queen Samira adopted you" Hildegard pointed out

"that make King Garrick Ally's adopted, and adoptive dads are just as real as dad dads" Sofia told her

"uh yes, o-of course they are, forget I said anything Leona" Hildegard said as she just fluttered her fan

Leona just sighed and looked down as Sofia placed her hand on Leona's back to comfort her, then Amber whispered something to Sofia

"well, I just hope Hildegard won't ask her dad to get the animals she wanted at the Enchanted Animal Park, you know what happened last time right?" she told them

"yep" Sofia answered

All of them but Leona, are excited to go back to the Enchanted Animal Park with their dads.

At Welshire castle, Ally made her way to King Garrick's room to pack up for the trip, just then, King Garrick entered the room

"is my girl ready for our first, dads and daughters field trip?" he asked in excitement

Leona just nodded in agreement

"I am...I guess!" she answered, "but I'm not yet finish packing for the trip" she told him

Garrick just smiled, "want me to help you sweetie?" he asked

"sure" Leona answered

As they were packing, Leona saw a shiny thing on the bed, she picked it up and looked at it

"what's this?" she asked

Garrick turned to her, "oh, that's my pocketwatch" he answered with a smile on his face as he continued to pack.

Leona opened the pocketwatch and saw a picture of Hugo and Axel together

"that's a perfect picture of Hugo and Axel" she told Garrick

"yes, and it's one of my favorites" he replied

As King Garrick pack everything they need for the field trip, Leona was a bit hurt at what he said, she placed down his watch and made her way out of the door and looked back.

"I'll just go to my room, and pack everything I need" she said hiding her sadness

"of course sweetie" Garrick answered

Leona left his room and then she ran through her mother

"hey Leona, are you done packing for the trip?" Samira asked

"Almost, but, I'm not sure I should go" Leona replied as she looked down
that made Samira concerned

"why not?" Samira asked as she placed her hands on Leona's shoulders

"well, I'll be the only one there with a stepdad, and everyone has a real dad but me" she told her mother

Samira kneeled down and held Leona's hands

"Leona, you're not the only one with a foster dad remember?" Samira asked

"Sofia has her stepdad, but, she claimed King Roland as her real dad" Leona replied as she sighed

"Aw Leona, Garrick, is your dad, and he told me that he couldn't wait to go on this trip, with his daughter" Samira told Leona

"he said that?" Leona asked

"yes, you're going to have a great time Leona, trust me" Samira said

"you're right mom" Leona replied

"of course I'm right" Samira said as she just smiled at her daughter.

"now come on, lets pack some snacks for the trip" Samira said as she and Leona went to the kitchen to pack some food for the field trip.
