"Come on lets go Jojo" Mom said rushing me.
"im coming" I huffed i put on my jacket and got in the car.
my brother jamie, my mom bonny, and my moms 'bf' derek were already in the car waiting for me. Mom started the car and the engine roared off. Before i knew it we were on the highway already.
"Sure takes you long to get ready" jamie said.
"yes young lady your only 16 and it takes u two hours to get ready" derek scoffed.
f him hes an a** hes 43 and my moms 36, i mean come on.
"get used to it old man" i snapped back at him then leaned on the window and stared blankly at the boring trafic honestly it was more interesting then talking to him.
mom broke the silence "so are you all as excited as i am about our vacation to hawaii?" she chimmed with a cheery tone.
I rolled my eyes and groaned.
"honey come on its gonna be fun" she smiled.
"right" i sneered. I put in my headphones and blocked them out. music was my only serenity my only way out the only way i can get away from these people.
~Flash back~
"the vikings are so better" I laughed.
"nuh-uh, so ur really excited?" dad smiled.
"very much, your the best dad ever, i cant believe you got tickets to see the vikings game" i beamed.
"well believe it, I cant believe your already 14 you grew up to fast" he frowned with a tear in his eye.
" i know but its life and before we know it ill be 16 then 18 .-." i said sadly
"but youll always be my little girl, i love u" he smiled.
:BLACKOUT:
I squint my eyes open and yelp in pain at how bad my body hurt. mom who had, had her head on the bed got up so quickly like someone had sliced ur finger off.
"try not to move much" she said with the worst sad face id ever seen.
i sat up it hurt i didnt care " where am i? wheres dad? whats going on?" i said confused and scared at the same time.
" honey ... you were in a car accident" she said with tears swelling up in her eyes.
"what, wheres dad?" i didnt notice but now i was yelling at her.
"he..." she trailed off.
" he what?" i scolded
"hes dead" she said so low that only i could hear.
"no he cant be we were just going to the game" i was confused and angry and sad all at the same time and all i could do was cry so thats what i did i started crying.
"a truck came at your dads side of the car, the guy wasnt watching the stop lights and rammed the car" she started bawling.
~end of flashback~
"honey whats wrong" mom said concerned.
i opened my eyes and noticed water had been flooding down my face, my eyes were burning and im pretty sure they were blood red.
"nothing... im fine" i lied, wipped my tears away and looked out the window only to see the gigantor summer house derek got for us for the summer. i stepped out of the car it really was huge i noticed it was only about 100 feet away from the ocean, the only perk to all this.
my mom broke the silence with "its beautiful derek its perfect" and she ran inside.
i quickly picked my room brought my stuff in and ran outside. all i wanted to do was sit and listen to the ocean, it was so beautiful gosh i swear i sat there for about an hour and a half before mom yelled out to me.
"its time for dinner" she yelled out
"im not hungry" i yelled loudly back.
"u need to eat" she put her hand on her hip.
"all eat later" i slumped down and layedd my head on the rock wall.
she went in thank goodness. it was so calming just sitting there listening to the waves crash on the rocks. half the time shes so intuned in derek she doesnt even care where im at, i kinda like that, i repeat 'kinda. i kinda missed her its like ever since she dad died and she started dating derek shes changed.
i looked at my phone about 2 hours later and noticed it was 9 O'clock. i walked inside slowing jamie was in his room playin video games and mom and derek were making out like teenagers on the couch. i walked right back out of the house and started to go exploring.
maybe have some fun.
