The year is 2073. The human society of Earth has narrowed media down to a specific decision:
Sports - Yeah, don't play those games any more (Brian Shaftew, our 56th President, had some safety concerns).
TV - No one finds it exciting (AKA all re-runs).
Internet - Step aside for the MODERN technology (The only person who still uses that 0.32 seconds to load thinger-majigger, is your great-grandparents).
Apps - I'm having a hard time not laughing at you believing apps will last another 20 years.
Video Games - The two words are written on the planet emblem.
In the year 2054, the CIA Scientist's Association of Video Games (SAVG) unleashed a new type of video games they nicknamed, "portal combat".
Basically, you start off by getting a team of seven people, male or female. You then register them into the IVGA (the International Video Game Association), which involves pinpricks, background checks, several IQ tests (low IQ is a low difficulty, vice versa), and even more personality tests for each person. Then you may enter tournaments or just daily games. The amount of different scenarios to play is endless. Oh yeah, games are also called scenarios. Why? Because of how you play it.
The SAVG really just found a way to transport atoms to a different dimension, then send them back. They realized that they could make big money with this. When "Portal Combat" came out in 2061, all other media was canceled. Just like that. Fell off the face of the Earth, just like that.
So first, you and your team all stand on atom pods. You then hear the thesis of the scenario, and if your team accepts the challenge, your team leader will say, "I, [state your name], of IVGA Team [state your team code] (example of a code would be IVGA Team J4PR2 (all codes are 5 digits/letters long)), accept the scenario(s) of [state the name of the game]."
When your atoms are transported, you end up in a room called "The Starting Point". It's the starting point of the scenario. In it, each person has a closet which has your equipment needed for the scenario. Each person has their own personalized equipment based on the IQ and personality tests. After you get dressed and get your equipment ready, your team leader will say a phrase which means we're ready, such as, "Let's do this thing," or, "We're ready," you know, stuff like that.
Some people may look at this and say, "Yeah right," but really dude, this stuff is legit...
TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.
