A Wolf Can Only Stay Caged For So Long

The stars like little yellow eyes sprinkle over the inky black night sky,
The moon a bright white sphere at its highest peak,
While the sun is like a reflection at its lowest.
Trees are everywhere like a unknown treasure waiting to be found,

With the exception of its maze like body,
Making navigation hard going by stars, and the unseen footprints from the wolf in front of me,
The green leaves or soft needles going high up taller then a power pole
My feet digging in to the soft dirt flinging it behind me creating a dust storm,

Heart racing like a never ending thunder storm,
I could hear my blood pounding in my ears,
The constant carnivores growls, driving me to go faster, I was being hunted,
Gotta run, gotta hide, gotta follow the tracks he leaves behind,

Eyes ice blue like a frozen glacier, these were not her original eye colour,
I'm tracking unseen foot prints from the wolf in front of me,
Legs aching like a continuous sledge hammer banging down on my leg muscle,
Ribs Chipped and Cracked as if it was a crystal crushed into fragmented flakes

30 seconds, was all I can think about
Legs a blur like unfocused photo
I jumped over a freshly uprooted forest tree
My bones rearranging themselves to their respectable places,
Landing on all four with nought sound like a cat readying it self too pounce,

The wolf that landed over that tree was a powerful one,
But the human had been beaten to no such imagination,
This wolf however still had the high potential to become a powerful one,
A once mighty warrior had been brought low, the road ahead is going to be a steep one,

The wolf still had Kenzies tracking eyes, however there was something else in there
Determination, pure and wise, colour ice blue like a frozen glacier,
Fur soft like your favourite blanket lying on your bed at home,
It's fur silver, the colour reflecting the moon like water to the sky,
My top teeth sharp as freshly sharpened sword,
Claws curled like the tip of a Falcon's beak,

Legs, sturdy made to power through the harsh lands of the forest and mountain.
I keep running, faster than ever,
If you timed a lightning strike then you'll know my speed,
I heard the growls from behind me, their getting closer,
I willed my legs to extend their strides as far as I can bear the pain,

A life time I've spent in that hell, I shivered in disgust,
They hurt me, used me as their personal punching bag, they will pay
I howled, Threatening them, promising them, their death
I howled, yearning for my pack, my family, my mate
I think eleven years is enough time from them don't you think?

The people who hurt me, the people I'm running from now,
I laughed they won't know what hit them,
I'll come back giving them every single speck of pain they gave me,
I'll give back eleven years of pain, I'll watch them burn.
