Doyoung averted his gaze from the paper not wanting to read anything else and slammed it against the desk in frustration.

'What's wrong? You didn't pass calculus?' His roommate asked, worriedly.

'Ugh... I wish it was only calculus...'

Jungwoo walked up to him and snatched the paper from his hands, reading Doyoung's grades. He gasped as he saw the disastrous grades in almost every subject.

'Doyoung... How could you fail all those??? You were literally a top student last year!'

Doyoung dropped himself on the bed, sighing.

'I don't know... I just feel chemical engineering isn't my thing...'

'Yeah, I can see that...' Jungwoo said, looking at his roommate with sad eyes. 'Have you thought of changing the degree you're in? I don't know, you used to say you liked psycholo-'

'I'm dropping out.' Doyoung blurted out.

'Y-you what???' Saying Jungwoo was surprised would be an understatement. He didn't expect this, at all. 'But Doyoung, you're not even going to finish this year? Or go for another degree? Or change subjects, I don't know...'

'No... It's already been decided. I can't do this anymore, studying isn't for me. You see... You can't see the results in my grades, but I've been putting a lot of effort to study for every exam. I get like... two hours of sleep whenever the exams are near, I spend whole weekends to complete my assignments, at this point there's more caffeine than blood running through my veins. I can't keep up with all this, I'll die if I continue like this!'

Jungwoo felt sorry for his friend, Doyoung's eyes were teary as he spat those words. Doyoung was trying his best without any results and Jungwoo could understand how frustrating it was.

Doyoung was desperate to find something to do with his life. He didn't have a house nor parents to go to, he literally lived in the University Campus and didn't have anywhere to go. His parents were alive, yes, but they didn't want to have anything to do with him and they just paid for him to go to university. He knew they would be absolutely mad if they found out he'd dropped out and they definitely would not help him find a house.

He scrolled down on his contacts list, mainly filled with names of people he'd talked to about once in his life, to see if an idea crossed his mind, until he saw a certain name.

Jung Jaehyun

Jaehyun and him had been friends when they were kids. They went to the same school and they only lost contact when they went to University. Jaehyun chose to study psychology whereas Doyoung went for engineering. He regretted that now, engineering had costed him his sanity and years of life he could have spent doing something else.

He decided to text his childhood best friend to see if he could help him. He knew the chances were low, but it was actually just an excuse to try and revive their old friendship.
