I groaned and turned, wincing as I felt how sore my body was. You'd think racing cars didn't require this much training and that driving wouldn't make your body ache, but with the sharp corners and G force you're feeling as you race, it definitely takes a toll on your body. Sitting up, my head pounds and the events of yesterday come crashing down. I had just won the Austrian Grand Prix and I had partied well into the morning with the other drivers. It really was getting tiring partying like this, but I knew it boosted company moral and strengthened our connection as a team. I look behind me to see a random model naked and asleep. This too was getting really old. I knew if I didn't leave before she woke up, I'd be stuck trying to get rid of her. I dressed quickly and snuck out of the room, heading up to my penthouse suite. There, I showered and got dressed, just in time to see my manager Kline come in with food.
"Sometimes I want to fire you, but then I remember why I haven't when you do stuff like this," I tell him as I take the bags of food he has.
"Yeah whatever kid. We're moving out in a few days to head for Austin. Try to stay out of trouble and you need to meet with the mechanics to make sure all the specifications on the car are done the way you want for the next race. They said something about a few tweaks needing to be made. Also, you have physical therapy before we leave and an endorsement deal to shoot." He goes on about my schedule for the next few days and I just focus on eating and tuning him out. I know he'll have all my future engagements programmed to my phone and reminders will set off every hour five hours before any event. Additionally, as much as I was a dumb ass, I also knew when I had engagements and I knew I had to take them seriously. I'd been lucky enough in my career as a F1 driver to have raced with the greatest teams and now I was driving for Ferrari. We currently had the fastest cars and we were racking up the scores, but Mercedes was hot on our heels with their new ownership acquisition. A Persian businessman named Iman Saberi. Not much was known about him other than the fact that he had acquired Mercedes in a hostile takeover and he had billions to back him in this new venture. My agents were considering the possibility of signing with them next year, seeing as my contract was about to expire with Ferrari at the end of this season. I was open yo anything, I just had to see what this new management was about.

I knew no matter what happened, racing wouldn't be my only passion in life. I was fortunate enough to come from old money that never seemed to run out and business men that stemmed from generations. My family dabbled in many ventures and when I was not racing, I too was invested in business. I knew Iman through my business connections and knew he was ruthless in the way he conducted things, which made him have my respect. I also knew that racing wouldn't last forever so I made sure I invested in more than just the sport. Currently I had my own hands in different businesses and investments and if racing were to stop right now, I would be more than fine with the massive fortune I had amassed. Sometimes it really is lonely at the top, but I don't know what else I could be missing.
