"Come in George! The water is beautiful!" Sapnap shouts from the ocean, where he was swimming in chest deep water. It was George's second week in Florida and he still hadn't gone swimming yet. He always had some kind of dumb excuse not to go in the water. They didn't convince Dream and Sapnap but nonetheless, they didn't say anything about it.
"No thanks, Sapnap" George yells back. Dream walks out of the water to sit with George, George doesn't look at Dream but instead focus' on his book. Dream sits down right next to George in the sand, the sand sticks to Dreams wet body like glue, George notices it too although he wished he didn't. Dream reaches over George's body and grabs a towel to dry himself when a few droplets of water trickle down Dream's arm onto George's legs. George looks up at Dream in fake disgust "wow thank you for that, Dream" George says with a smile forming. Dream looks genuinely concerned "oh I'm sorry" Dream uses the towel he just grabbed and wipes the water off Georges legs and then sits back next to him and wipes his face and dries his long wavy hair.
"You just dried my leg with that towel" George said confused
"Uh yeah" Dream responds.
"And you just wiped your face with that towel" George tilts his head to his left shoulder, it's a common mannerism that he does when he is confused.
Dream laughs and says "you're really good at stating the obvious, George".
"You don't care that we used the same towel?" George was really confused now, was he just overthinking this?
"No, why would I?" for a moment they are in silence other than the ambience of the waves crashing until Dream continues "it's just like touching you in real life, you're acting as if we don't do that everyday?"
George giggles at the line, 'of course he would think that' Dream thinks to himself.
"Okay no...shut up... you know what I mean" Dream pauses to think "see just like this-" Dream touches George's hand. A strange feeling occurred over George, he felt a spark, a spark of something different, something that has been there before but not as prominently.
"- and now if I touch my face..." Dreams hand falls from Georges and he wipes his forehead that was still a little wet from the ocean "- it's exactly the same, right?" Dream asks, it wasn't a real question, Dream wasn't looking for an answer as he just proved it. I suppose it was more of a rhetorical question and Dream and George left it at that.
The rest of the day went by like a breeze and then it was night time.
"George, Sapnap and I are going to bed" Dream says in the doorway of George's room, George was correcting the settings on his PC so he could stream ASAP. "Okay I won't be up for much longer anyways"
"I figured. Don't be too loud, you know what Sap is like when he doesn't get a good sleep"
George giggles as a response and says "goodnight Dream"
"Goodnight George".
The night went pretty fast too, George stayed up until 12am fixing his new PC when he got a message from his mum, about his little sister.
George was standing in the ocean holding his phone over the waves so it doesn't get wet but also on an angle so that he was still in frame "see I'm here too, now we're technically swimming together!" George says giggling. Luckily for George this was Florida, it really wasn't that cold tonight but it was breezy and George's wavy hair stuck to his face. After half an hour the call ends but George stays in the ocean, he doesn't swim, he doesn't float, he just stands there. Silent.
