Y/N POV
I practically into the dressing room, setting down my bag and starting to do my hair.
"You're almost running late," Dusk said with a grin, relaxing on the couch since she was already ready.
"Sorry, got caught up with things," I said, still a bit out of breath.
"Caught up with Eric?" Moxie teased, applying her lipstick before blowing her reflection a kiss.
My face went red and I frowned, teasing my hair out more. "Shut up."
"Come on, you know she's sensitive about having a hot successful boyfriend! Poor thing," Tink said with a dramatic sigh, and I rolled my eyes.
"Sounds like you three are jealous," I muttered, and they all laughed.
"Jealous? Well maybe a bit! You're dating a guy who's been in KISS, Black Sabbath, played with Brian May, Alice Cooper, the list goes on! And he's a pretty good looking guy too," Dusk said, waggling her eyebrows.
"Yeah, yeah, he's also mine, so eyes and hands off," I said with a smile, moving into applying my makeup before finally getting into my tight leather top and skirt paired with platform boots and torn fishnets.
"Is he gonna be at the show? I wanna see if I can convince him that it's better to date a drummer since he's a drummer himself," Tink said.
"He knows lead singer is the way to go," I said smugly. "Besides, he's not drumming with anyone right now."
"Oh, then I should practice with him to make sure he doesn't forget how to pound things," she said, laughing as she ducked the makeup brush I hurled at her.
"Alright girls, come on, leave Y/N alone. We'll just have to go after the rest of her boyfriend's former bandmates," Moxie said.
"Hah, good luck. As far as I know, they're all taken. Hell I think two of them have kids," I said.
"Taken for now," Dusk said. "And I think I'd be a great stepmom."
The rest of us burst into laughter before I looked at the clock.
"Alright girls, showtime. Let's kill it like always," I said.
We moved to the stage, taking our places in anticipation of the spotlights going up, staring out at the dark shapes of the audience shifting in the dark.
"Alrighttt people! Coming in hot, Hari Kari!" the announcer boomed, lights coming on in a flash as we burst into action.
I scanned the crowd as I sang, smiling as I saw Eric in the front row, and he smiled as he saw me looking.
The show went great as always, and we took our bows after a third encore, curtain dropping before we headed backstage.
"Good job tonight! We really killed it!" I said cheerfully, getting back in my usual clothes and wiping off my eyeliner and lipstick.
"Always do!" Dusk said, high-fiving Tink.
I said my goodbyes to the three of them before walking off in search of Eric. Frowning, I stood in the backstage doorway, scanning the people still milling around. A pair of hands covered my eyes suddenly, making me jump.
"Guess who?"
I whirled around to find Eric and gave him a kiss.
"My gosh you scared me. What'd you think of the show?" I asked.
"You were just amazing. I don't think I've ever seen a better lead singer. Your whole band is good! I think you could give KISS a run for their money, now that I'm not behind the drums," he said with a wink, and I rolled my eyes with a smile.
"You're too humble, really," I said sarcastically.
"I know," he teased, kissing me.
"Anyway, want to come to my place for tonight?" I asked playfully, and his eyes sparkled.
"Now that isn't a question you have to ask twice," he purred.
We headed to my place, grabbing dinner before heading to sleep in each other's arms.
I rolled over with a yawn the next morning, expecting to bump into Eric, but to my surprise the bed was empty.
"Babe?" I asked, sitting up.
I looked around in confusion, sliding out of bed, wandering through my house.
"Eric?" I called. "Where are you?"
After searching all the rooms I meandered back to my room, looking at the note on the bedside table.
Y/N--
Got a really important call that I had to take! Gonna be out of town for a few weeks, promis~ ~~~ not cheating on you, love you to bits serio~~~~
Anyway call me when you get this at (718) 28~ ~~~~
Can't wait to hear from you, I lov~ ~~~
Love,
Eric
I felt my heart sink as I looked at the note. Water from the condensation on the glass of ice water had dripped onto the table, soaking the paper and blurring out almost all of the phone number and bits of his message.
"Oh you've gotta be kidding me," I murmured, looking at the note, before letting out a sigh.
I guess unless he called me sooner, I wouldn't see him for a few weeks.
***I hope you all will enjoy this story! I have so many ideas for it, I'm so excited!***
