She walks along the jetty near the harbor. There are so many boats. None of them are the kind that allure her too much because they all have engines. At this point though, she might take almost anything. She sees a beautiful blue and white sailboat, and then another like it in red. She seldom remembers the names, so she doesn't even bother to look at them. She takes off her hat to feel the wind in her hair. She's recently cut it short and loves the feeling now more than ever before. The sun is slowly setting, but she doesn't want to go back to the hotel. The harbor is calling her.
She walks back anyway. She wants to play a game with her grandma and aunt. They play a rousing game of cards against humanity. For how innocent everyone seems to think she is, she greatly enjoys that game. She does still blush when she has to read some of the cards out loud.
Her aunt and grandma go to sleep pretty early, around 11. Her normal "bedtime" is 2, but she decides it might not be so bad to catch up on some of the sleep she's been losing. She lays her head down on the pillow, and she dreams of pirates. She dreams of sailing away with pirates from the olden days, the ones you hear stories about, legends, tales. She longs to live those days, but sadly, it is only a dream. She wakes up from it.
She has a lot of energy when she wakes up, and she can hardly wait to get on the road! She whistles as they reload the car and plays music when they start driving. The whole day is full of stops where they can see the ocean. It's wild, rough, and untamed. She has never been that way, not by any means, but she wants to be. She wants it so badly. Her heart aches with the longing of the sea everytime they stop.
They reach their destination for the night, and she's pretty well exhausted. The caffeine and the morning's energy are wearing off fast. Time to sleep again. And again, the same dream. Pirates, dozens of them, picking her up and sailing off. She starts at the bottom as a simple cabin-girl, but then the captain notices her. It's all uphill from there. Every day is something new, something unexpected. She loves the feeling. She wishes so desperately that her life could be that way.
