How easily the departer forgets the one left behind. How easily they seem to move on and never look back. They seem to think the same will be of us, the forgotten.
No one ever seems to remember us, the left behind, the forgotten, the broken. They think that since they are not in any pain that we must be experiencing the same, but the reality is quite the opposite. The sheer agony of being in the heat and then being abruptly tossed into the icy tundra is shocking to the bone and stabbing like taking icicles to the heart.
We are expected to move on from such a warm heat, such a beautiful and happy love, faster than we can blink. But the sad truth of it is, we will never move on, not really. We will always bear the sadness at the loss of that person in our heavy hearts. We will never forget them, not one day, not one line, no matter how hard we may try. The scars left on hearts by a great love are second only to the mental wounds inflicted in military combat.
The forgotten never forget.
We never, ever stop loving.
