Jamais Vu

Jungkook and Taehyung went to the mall to watch a movie. They've been planning to do this for a while now, they just wasn't able to because of their conflicting schedule with their jobs. Taehyung is so excited that they're finally going to do it.

"Jungkookie, wait for me here, I'll just go to the washroom," said Taehyung to his boyfriend.

"Okay, Tae, go and i'll wait for you," Jungkook answered while smiling to his lover.

Taehyung smiled back at him before turning around and going to the washroom. He wasn't aware but Jungkook took a picture of him. He typed the caption, still smiling, and was about to post it when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

It was his ex-girlfriend, Lee Jieun.

"Hi, Jungkook," she said surprised and breathless like she wasn't expecting to see him there.

"Hello, Jieun," he greeted back.

"It's been a while, huh? Since we last saw each other?" she started a conversation.

"Yeah."

"Well, how are you?"

"I'm doing fine, how about you?"

"Same as you, doing just... fine," she said like she was forced to answer that way.

"Well, that's good," he can't say anything else so he just spouted something as a response.

"By the way, why are you here? Are you alone?"

"Oh, I'm with my boyfriend and we're here to fulfill our plan of watching a movie," smile coming back to him just by the mere mention of his boyfriend.

"You're having a date? Movie date, specifically?" she asked, tone a bit changing.

"Yeah," he answered.

"Just the same as what we usually do before..." she said like she was in a daydream.

Jungkook, despite hearing her utter those words, did not say anything and just looked at his phone's lockscreen with Taehyung's image, flashing his boxy smile.

"How's your relationship with Taehyung? What's going on now with your life?" she asked.

"How do I answer that..." he trailed off as if he was thinking about it seriously.

"Well, we're now living together, thankfully, his parents finally allowed us to do so. We do dates at least twice a week but if we really can't, we just stay in our house and eat something that we cooked together. I guess, you could say that we do just what a typical couple do," he actually wanted to say more but he just concluded it with his last sentence.

"Basically, you did with him the things we usually do before when we were in a relationship," she said ignorantly.

He didn't know how to reply to that.

He wanted to correct her but he didn't know how to break it to her without being rude.

"You know, these past few months, I was actually checking your secret instagram account for photography, the one you told me to keep as a secret between the two of us. I saw some replies under your post which I think is Taehyung's and he was calling your name as if he knows that you're the one who owns the account. I felt sad because why would you do that? I thought it was a secret only the two of us will know," she sadly expressed her thoughts.

"Well, above all possible reasons, Taehyung is my boyfriend and i'd like to share every single thing with him. He was actually already a follower of mine even before we knew each other. Also, may I ask why you're suddenly bringing this up?" he was confused.

"It's just... These past few months, i realized that I am still in love with you. I know I broke up with you 2 years ago, and I even had a boyfriend after you, but it all just came to me. I broke up with him 3 months ago because I still love you, Jungkook."

"And you are telling me this because?"

"Jungkook, I know that you know why i'm doing this!"

"I'm honestly confused, why don't you just tell me directly," he answered, a bit irritated.

"I know you're still in love with me!"

"How'd you say so?" his eyebrows are now closer than ever as his level of irritation start to go up.

"You guys are going on a movie date like we used to do. You're even here, in OUR place. You are doing to him what we did when we were in a relationship. You're seeing him as me because you haven't moved on from me yet. You're still in love with me! Now let me ask you, do you get deja vu when he's with you?"

"I'm sorry, Jieun, but you are jumping into conclusions. This might be rude to say since we also once had a beautiful relationship but actually, instead of feeling deja vu, i felt jamais vu. It's when you feel like something has never happened before although it actually already happened to you. In my relationship with Tae, yes, we do dates just like how you and i used to do in the past. But during our date, although the experience is the same as when it was between the two of us before, the feelings are different. I felt like I have never experienced being this inlove with a person. In the past, we have always been going on dates together, you know, as a romantic couple but these experiences and emotions I feel with Tae now, overpower everything that you and I had before, to the point of feeling unfamiliar with it. It felt like it was my first time falling so deep for a person," Jungkook answered her.

"I--- Jungkook, no-- No! You're still inlove with me! And I still love you! Break up with him and come back to me, Jungkook, please I love you!" she asked like she was begging for mercy.

"But i'm not in love with you anymore, Jieun. Yes, at one point in time, I was inlove with you but not anymore, because now, all I can think of, is Taehyung... and my love for him. I'm sorry if I made you feel like that, but I can't say sorry for loving Taehyung. Because loving him is the best decision I have ever made in my life," Jungkook explained.

"..."

"Stand up and and don't give up, Jieun. Find yourself a person who will love you and treat you like you're their world because I can't, and won't be that person for you. Once again, i'm sorry for hurting you. I wish that the next time we see each other, I'll see you smile like you've never smiled before."

After that, he walked away and went towards the washroom where his boyfriend said he'd go to. He waited there until he saw him going out of the room.

"Love, what happened to you? You look like you saw a ghost," Taehyung asked worriedly while placing his hands in his lover's cheeks.

"Maybe, I did saw a ghost," of the past, he silently continued.

"Oh gosh, for real? Where? Is that why you came here? It won't follow you, right? What if it followed you?" Taehyung continuously asked him while his hands dropped to Jungkook's waist, holding there a bit tight.

"Baby, relax. I was just joking," he giggled upon seeing his boyfriend's panicked face.

"You know that i'm afraid of ghosts, yet you still tease me about it. I hate you," Taehyung said while pouting.

"I'm sorry, alright?" he kissed him softly.

"Also, don't worry, baby, even if ghosts were actually real, they won't be able to hurt you because i'll protect you. You're my baby and I can't afford my baby to be in pain, can I?" he added before pressing a kiss on Taehyung's forehead.

"I love you, Tae."

"I love you, too, my sappy Jungkookie."

And he saw his precious boyfriend flash his boxy smile at him. Oh, how he loves seeing that smile on Taehyung's face.

When they finished watching the movie, they decided to go back home and just continued their date there in the comfort of their own home.

Before the day ended, Jungkook posted Taehyung's picture, the one he took without him knowing, with a caption: I love you like i've never loved anyone before.
