We arrived at the hellhouse of Ember Ce. I spotted Josh at the gate and I felt sick. I told James that I would see him in class and fled to the bathroom.

Why was I crying? I splashed my face with cold water. I wanted to go home.
Pull yourself together, Amelia.

On my way to my locker, I noticed Annabelle waiting for me. I tried to look as normal as I possibly could so she wouldn't suspect anything.

"Annie!" That came out a little louder than I meant it to be.

"Amy!" she screamed back. Thank God she didn't notice anything.

I smiled at her. Even though she's got big feet and big teeth, I love her.

"Stop staring at me and get your books so we can go!" she said in a high-pitched voice.

I laughed and as I did so, she reminded me to get my books.

"Right,"

I grabbed all my books and we went to class.

The first four classes went by pretty slow and I couldn't wait for lunch-break. When the bell finally rang I grabbed my stuff and headed for the caffeteria with Annabelle. There we found James and Kevin already eating.

"You guys have started eating without us?" asked Annabelle.

"Hi to you too."

"Hey, Kevin." I said. "Where were you this morning?"

"Over-slept."

"Hmm. I wonder why," I looked at him suspiciously.

"I was studying,"

"Right."

"Okay fine. I was playing this really awesome game! Gee, Amy I bet you would've loved it! It has such great..."

"Oo-kay Kevin we don't wanna hear it!" Annabelle retorted.

I chuckled. Poor guy.

I went to the trash-can and Annabelle followed.

"Who's that girl standing with Josh?"

I looked towards the door. My heart sank. It was her.

"I'm going to the bathroom." I said. "See you later."

I walked to the door with no intention of looking at Josh.

"Amy, what's going on with you?"

Oh great. Just when I thought I was gonna ignore the dude.

"Excuse me?"

"What's happening with you? You've been very distant lately. Is it something I did?"

"What do you think, Josh?"

Everyone around us was listening quietly.

"Calm down, babe."

"Babe? Who is babe? Me or her?"

"Oohhhhhhhhh ...!" The crowd responded loudly.

"Amy, please,"

"Please what?"

"Don't do this."

"Do what?" He looked away. "If you'll excuse me, I have better things to do than stand here and listen to you speak rubbish."
