It was seven in the morning. Sage kept tossing and turning around in her bed, trying to get some more sleep but failed as the curtains were open and the sun was shining right at her, daring her to sleep more. The windows were open and the air was humid, making her sweaty. Finally, she gave up and drowsily got ready for the day.

Unlike normal people, leaving the bedroom without freshening up for breakfast, it was not allowed in the Idaliah household as it was strongly disliked by her mom. Shuabi Idaliah made a few strict rules that had to be followed no matter what, such as this one; Never bring your night face for breakfast, no matter how hungry you are, you won't get any food before freshening up.

She came out of the room to see Oden taking his stuff back to his real room from the guest room, a.k.a. his storeroom, to make it look presentable for Devillia(a.k.a. Aunt Lia).

"Goodmorning, sleepyhead," Oden remarked.

"Morning, seems like you are finally getting rid of your storeroom," I said pointing at the carton box he was carrying.

Oden nodded while rolling his eyes.

Sage then went downstairs and saw her dad watching the news on the recent football tournament. She went into the kitchen and greeted her mom who was preparing lunch and some pastries in the kitchen. All in all, it was a usual morning. She went to the cabinet and took her favorite Oreo cereal and milk from the fridge and started pouring it in the bowl thinking about what was on her to-do list for the day when suddenly the realization hit her that the Devillia was coming today. She almost choked on her own spit and started coughing hysterically.

"Are you okay?" her mom asked looking worried.

The concern in her mother's eyes made her feel content.

"I'm fine, thanks," she replied smiling sweetly at her mom.

The relation between them was a bit ordinary compared to other Mother-Daughter relationships.

10 minutes later she finished her breakfast and went to wash the dishes. Then she went to put the chocolate muffins in the oven that her mom made for the coming guests, setting the timer and temperature she went to sit beside her dad who now switched to a different channel and was looking at it lazily.

He looked at Sage and said,

"Sweetheart, how are you?"

"I am good dad just a little nervous"

"About Devillia's visit?" dad whispered back smirking knowingly

I nod and said,

"Yes about Devillia's visit, I wonder what she has up in her sleeves this time "

The label Devillia was given to aunt Lia by my amazing father, who always found her malicious as I did.

"Sweetheart they are only able to hurt you because you let them do it, you're not cursed or anything you are just special" I nod again trying to let his words sink.

The bell rings.

Sage tensed and her dad seemed to notice it and squeezed her hand.

"Don't let their words get to you. They are usele--"

"Honey could you please open the door," mom interrupted.

Dad sighed and got up for the door while giving my hand another quick squeeze. I ran back to the kitchen looking for any sort of distraction that would delay my meeting with them.

"Hello Archie," the shrill voice of Devillia echoed through the living room.

"Hello, uncle Archie," both Liam and Arya greeted.
