"Well, you two look like grandfather and granddaughter," Jesper said as he returned to the post office.
"Welcome back, Jesper," Klaus greeted.
"Welcome back, Jesper!" Márgu greeted in Saami.
"What were you two talking about?" Jesper asked.
"Nothing much," Klaus answered.
"You would like it if Klaus said he loved you, no?" Márgu asked in Saami, which neither Klaus nor Jesper understood.
"Well, come here, kiddo," Jesper said as he bent down towards her. "I may have hurt my arm, but I can still hold you in my arm." He let out his arm in front of her so that Márgu can approach him and be picked up by him. "Wow, you're getting bigger and bigger every day!" Jesper said as he picked her up.
"I wanna be a big girl soon!" Márgu replied is Saami.
"I hope my arm heals soon so that I have no problem carrying you," Jesper said as he leaned his cheek on Márgu's cheek. They both giggled as their cheeks touched.
Klaus looked at them with a heart-warming smile. If Lydia and I ever had kids, that would probably how they looked like... Klaus thought as he placed his chin on his hand. The breeze circulated behind Jesper and Márgu just like the time when Jesper visited Klaus to suggest donating the toys he made. Klaus eyes started to sparkle even more by the scenery.
"Klaus? Klaus?" Jesper was calling Klaus while he was in a deep thought by Jesper and Márgu.
"Huh? Hm?" Klaus reacted.
"I think she wants to visit your house," Jesper said. "Can we go visit your place?"
"Ah, of course," Klaus said. "But we'll have to walk there. I should start building you another coach."
"I think we need to fix your door first," Jesper said as he nervously chuckled.
"No one is going to burst into my house and steal stuff," Klaus said. "I don't have anything for others to steal yet. But you need a new coach for transporting larger packages when your arm heals, so let's go ahead and build that first."
"Well, if you insist," Klaus said.
"Let's go over to your house then," Jesper said.
"Let me carry Márgu for you," Klaus said. "You wouldn't mind, would you?" He asked Márgu.
"Wow, Klaus never carried me before," Márgu said in Saami as she transferred to Klaus' arms.
They had to hike up the mountain to get to Klaus' house, but that gave time for Klaus and Jesper to give each verbal report on what happened while delivering the mails and packages. While they were going up, Márgu fell asleep in Klaus' arm.
"So, it looks like not only children are writing letters to each other," Jesper said. "But it seems like adults are writing each other letters also. It seems like Annelisse is having a little birthday party soon, I wonder how they celebrate birthdays here in Smeerensburg."
"Probably like how other children celebrate their birthdays," Klaus answered.
"It would look even better since the town itself looks good," Jesper said. "Before the Ellingboes and the Krums got along, I can't, and don't want to, imagine how they celebrated their birthdays."
"That is something I'm also curious about," Klaus said.
"You never came down here?" Jesper asked.
"I never had a reason to," Klaus said. "I never came to the village. I just stayed at my cabin. I've never been outside of my area before you came to my house."
