We're Gonna Play in The Dark Till It's Golden Again

Chapter 5

*3 AND A HALF MONTHS LATER*

-Méadhbh’s POV-

“No. Fucking. Way.” I muttered in pure amazement.

I’ve wanted this for too long: it just can’t be true. This morning, I woke up with extremely bad stomach cramps. I’ve been putting up with them for 2 months, and now I know what the cause is.

“Congratulations…you’re going to be a mum.” the nurse told me.

That was when I looked at the monitor, and said ‘No. Fucking. Way’. A black and white picture of a small blob greeted me, and I welled up.

“This is amazing…I can’t wait to tell Siva!” I shrieked.

The nurse’s head turned so quickly I thought she’d given herself whiplash.

“Siva…as in Siva Kaneswaran…from The Wanted?!” she asked as a huge grin spread across her face.

I smiled back.

“Yeah, I’m his fiancée. I take it you’re a fan?”

Her face turned bright red and her grin got bigger.

“I love them. I’ve been there since the beginning, and I’ll be there until the end! You’re so lucky…Siva’s gorgeous and he’s got an amazing personality!”

Hospitals were places I’d always hated…now I know my midwife is a fan of my future husband’s band; they’re quickly growing on me!

“By the way, what’s your name?” I asked just before I walked out of the room.

“Rosie…Rosie Crompton.” She stammered.

I walked out of the room and began to text Seev. ‘Got a surprise for you when you get back from the studio ;) xxx’

-Shauna’s POV-

“Tom, why are you being like this?” I shouted.

“Just fucking leave me alone, yeah?! I’ve got stuff on my mind and I just need a bit of time to myself. Is that really too much to ask?!” he shouted back, twice as loud.

Over the past few months, all we’ve done is argue. I don’t need this shit: I’m heavily pregnant for fuck’s sake! I was fit to burst and Tom was making me feel worse by the second.

“OH SHIT! Tom, ring the hospital…NOW!” I shrieked. He gave me a dirty look.

“And why should I do that?!” he retorted.

“BECAUSE YOUR FUCKING SON IS ABOUT TO BE BORN!”

All colour drained from his face and he ran to the phone. Water started running down my leg…let the fun commence!

*32 HOURS LATER*

“Shauna…I’m so sorry about the other day. I love you.” Tom whispered as he held Aaron for the first time.

“Tom, I accept the apology, but I’m tired. Just let me sleep for a bit.”

Just as I turned onto my side, Rosie, the midwife, walked in. “And how’s mummy and baby Parker doing?” she asked Tom.

I didn’t hear what he said next, because I fell asleep.

The next thing I remember is waking up to a crying Danielle, a violently shaking Méadhbh and a furious Megan. The others were nowhere to be seen.

-Danielle’s POV-

Aaron was absolutely beautiful. Me, Méadhbh and Megan walked in: Tom was holding Aaron whilst talking to the midwife and Shauna was asleep. The midwife turned to walk out and her eyes almost popped out of her head when she saw Méadhbh.
