James' Little Sister

Chapter 8

Ever since Lily babysat Ellie, James and her have been getting along.

Believe it or not but it was like Ellie was James' lucky charm. She was always there when good things happened to him and now this happened and he was glad to be back with his sister, not that he was using her for Lily to like him but he just feels slightly happier with Ellie by his side.

"Jamesie," James hears a small, soft voice whisper as they poke his cheek.

James groans as he rolls over the other way. Ellie scoffs slightly before she pokes him some more but the older Potter sibling doesn't budge so Ellie leaves the room.

As Ellie walks down the hallway towards a door she opens quietly, she was quite sneaky, and snuck in the room before she pokes the person who was sprawled out on the bed.

"Siri," poke, "Siri," Ellie drags out the 'i' making it sound like 'e'.

Sirius groans as he opens one eye and immediately closes it.

Ellie gasps as she says, "I saw you,"

Sirius, yet again, groans as he opens his eyes, sits up and turns on his lamp. Sirius expected to see Ellie smiling sleepily but he was met with her teary eyes.

"What's wrong Elle belle," Sirius immediately asks as he pulls her onto his lap.

"I had a nightmare and Jamesie wouldn't wake up," Ellie pouted as a few tears run down her face.

"Oh, shush, now how about we lay down and think of positive things, alright," Sirius says as he plugs in a muggle night light and turns off his lamp before he pulls the blanket over himself and Ellie.

"Okay," the young Potter says before she smiles, thinking about magical creatures.

"What are you smiling about Elle belle," the Black boy asks.

"Hippogriffs,"

Sirius hums before he closes his eyes, but doesn't fall asleep quite yet. He waits until he hears Ellie's breathing fall even, meaning she was asleep.

The boy looks down at his sister figure and kisses her on the forehead and holds onto her tighter, praying she doesn't have another nightmare.

He had always hated nightmares. He hated seeing Ellie so sad when he was so used to seeing her happy. Sirius was quite used to his little brother, Regulus, having nightmares but ever since he had been sorted into Gryffindor, Regulus doesn't go to him anymore like he used to.

As Sirius fell asleep, Euphemia and Fleamont Potter stood at the doorway in each others arms smiling at the two. Sirius had become like a son to the two Potter's. They had always wanted four children but they had only gotten two but now they've got three, they were grateful of course but it didn't stop them from trying.

They of course stopped after a while because they knew that they'd have to focus on the war and keeping their children safe.

After a while the two Potter's left the room and started getting ready since they had work. Usually Euphemia would stay home but she decided that she'd have to work and that the boys should spend more time with Ellie since they will be going to Hogwarts soon.

Later that morning, James Potter wakes up heads to the bathroom and does his business before he walks out and heads to his sister's room to check up on her.

As he opens the door he expects his little Elle bear to be in bed but all he sees is an empty bed. He immediately panics and runs down the stairs and looks all over the place before he heads back upstairs to his parents room yet there's still no sign of her.

James starts panicking more as he goes back to his room and pulls out parchment and starts writing,

MOONY!

I LOST MY SISTERRRR
HELP ME NOW I CANT FIND HER ANYWHERE.

IVE LOOKED UP AND DOWN STAIRS! I checked the kitchen, dining room, living quarters, bathrooms, her room, my parents room my room and even the attic!

HELP MEEEEEE

As James gives his owl the letter and tells it where to go he runs his hand through his hair.

Not even ten minutes go by and James gets a letter and immediately opens it to see that Remus had wrote that he was coming.

The Potter boy immediately runs down the stairs and starts pacing in front of the door, running his hands through his hair.

As Remus gets there he runs up the steps and knocks on the door until James opens it and runs in as he looks through the rooms downstairs and checks the covers.

Remus sighs, already frustrated as he runs up the steps, James following him closely as Remus checks every room before they get to Sirius' door and Remus looks at James, rasing an eyebrow.

"Shit! I forgot Pads had moved in! Why hadn't I looked in there," James says, frustrated with himself.

Remus groans as he shakes his head and opens the door slowly and there she was laying in Sirius' arms, fast asleep.

"Really, Prongs,"

"Sorry, moony,"

The two head down to go eat since Remus hadn't even got to eat because he had rushed over.

From upstairs, Sirius had just woken up and looks down at Ellie to see that she was still asleep and sighs before he picks her up brings her with him downstairs so she's not alone.

As he is walking down the stairs he sees Remus and James joking and laughing and immediately smiles.

"Mornin'" Sirius says causing the two boys to look up.

The two boys greet him as they move over to make room for the boy.

As he sits down Remus notices the tear stains on Ellie's cheeks and frowns.

"Was she crying," he asks as be grabs a blanket that was on the couch and wraps Ellie in it so she isn't cold.

"Uh, yeah.. She had come to me because she had a nightmare," Sirius explains.

James frowns.

Why hadn't she gone to him? Was he jealous? No, no he couldn't be.

"Prongs? You good," Sirius asks as he gad seen his best mate zoned out.

The Potter boy clears his throat before saying, "yeah, yeah I'm good,"

Remus motions for him to go on since both boys know that that isn't all.

"Its just- why didn't she come to me,"

Remus immediately starts laughing causing James to look over at him, confused.

"Mate, she did. You just wouldn't wake up, so she came to me," Sirius explains as he starts laughing too.

"What? Why are you two laughing," James asks.

"Mate, you were jealous,"

"Wha- I was not," he denies.

"You so were," a sleepy voice says causing all boys to go silent causing the little voice to giggle, "oh so now you guys wanna be quiet,"

"Oh, you shush Ellie bellie," Remus says as he slightly tickles her.
