Too dark to see

Mommy said things would be better in the morning, but they never are. Why did daddy tell her I died? I'm not dead! I'm still here, but nobody notices me anyway.
It's quiet right now, It usually is this early in the morning. Something feels off, but I'm all
alone.

Mommy and daddy are sleeping still, My room is upstairs, mommy and daddy sleep in the big room at the end of the hallway. But the door at the end of the hall is open, Mommy and daddy sleep with the door closed. The lights are off in the room, mommy and daddy aren't there. From the stairs I can see the dimly lit light from the kitchen, it must have been left on. The stairs creek softly with each step, as I continue down, I can't help but feel like the stairs itself are suffocating me.

"Mommy? Daddy?" No answers.
